Determining how humans affect the environment on a global scale is much different

than studying the effects on a local level. Seeing the small changes that people can
make in their daily lives is really only effective when the issue is explored in
contrast to the larger picture, Pollution does not just make the environment look
ugly, but also severely affects the health of both animals and humans . Toxic gases
and poisonous chemicals released into the land and sea kill sea creatures, make birds
to change their flight courses.
.. How do humans affect the environment? The condition of today's environment has
been affected by many factors, some of which are positive and many of them are
negative, meaning they damage or cause harm to the environment.
However, there are some positive effects on the environment caused by humans
such as, the conservation of endangered species, protection of the o-zone layer, and
the conservation of the earths resources.. I will discuss how humans have a negative
effect on the environment; this will focus on the issue of pollution. Secondly, I will
discuss the positive effects, which we have on the environment.
Global warming is when the earth heats up (the temperature rises). It happens
when greenhouse gases trap heat and light from the sun in the earths atmosphere,
which increases the temperature. This hurts many people, animals, and plants.
Many cannot take the change, so they die. But sometimes the temperature can
change in a way that helps us. The greenhouse effect makes the earth appropriate
for people to live on. Without it, the earth would be freezing, or on the other hand it
would be burning hot.
Air supplies us with oxygen which is essential for our bodies to live.
There are several main types of air pollution and well-known effects of air pollution
which are commonly discussed. These include smog, acid rain, the greenhouse
effect, and "holes" in the ozone layer. The main factors which pollute the air are
fumes from factories and cars and of course they have negative effect on our health.
Pollution also needs to be considered inside our homes, offices, and schools. Some
of these pollutants can be created by indoor activities such as smoking and cooking.
We spend about 80-90% of our time inside buildings, thats why its important to
consider both indoor and outdoor air pollution.
These days everyone knows what smoking cigarettes does to our bodies, but the
knowledge of what smoking does to the Earth is not as common.
It is fairly obvious that smoking pollutes the air and quite often the ground.
However, it is not always obvious how or how much smoking pollutes. Cigarettes
contain over 4000 chemicals which are released into the air and the atmosphere. The
pollution caused by cigarettes does not stop in our bodies or the air; it also affects
the land we live on and the water that we drink. So we should seriously think about
these problems and shouldnt forget that mother nature has to maintain a balance,
purity and needs time to restore resources. Which is essential and gives us
opportunity to continue our living on earth.
