NEW ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Liftonin (N)
INCI: Aqua, Glycerin, Panicum Miliaceum Seed Extract (Millet Seed), Tannic Acid, Potassium Sorbate (0.2%).
Origin: Switzerland. Shelf life: 2 years. Ecocert approved (Note: our suppliers, Rahn Cosmetics hold the Ecocert
certification for this product, not Aromantic). Liftonin is approved for use in natural and organic formulations.
It is GMO-free, mineral-free and heavy metal-free. Not tested on animals.
Liftonin is an active ingredient complex against skin aging. It has been specially designed to improve the skin
structure. Its active ingredients are botanical silicon from millet and skin-tautening tannins from the oak. In vivo
studies with only 2% Liftonin confirm an improved skin structure by reducing wrinkles and lines, as well as a
generally younger appearance. Dosage: 2-5%. Water-soluble. Best added to your product under 40C.
Botanical silicon
Botanical silicon with high bio-availability promotes the production of the skin's structural proteins. The new
production of collagen and glucosamine glucans is accelerated. The skin profile is improved from within.

A totally natural and vegan blended wax based on ethically and non-GMO sourced
soya, which is also known in the trade as Eco Wax as it ethically sourced, even though
not organic. 100% Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (hydrogenated from a freezing point of
-8C to a melting point of approximately 66-72C). During this hydrogenation process
the unsaturated fatty acids in the soya oil becomes saturated and therefore solid.
Soya Wax is mainly used to make candles and it used in cosmetics. It is oil and fatsoluble and insoluble in water.
When used for candle-making it has excellent fragrance-holding qualities whilst having the ability to throw its

aroma when burning. It is significantly cleaner burning than traditional waxes, burns slower and lasts longer
than paraffin.
For use in natural cosmetics, Soya Wax gives a very good consistency to Lip Balms and Lipsticks. It is an excellent
alternative in balms and ointments to Vaseline in as it has the same skin feeling, without the drawbacks of a
mineral product (not that we expect any of you are using Vaseline!). Soya Wax can also be used in fatty
creams or protective creams.
To make vegan lip balms in lip balm cylinders, you can replace the beeswax with soya wax. As Soya Wax has a
higher melting point than Beeswax, you need approximately 15% less Soya Wax in your recipe so, if you are
using 20g of beeswax in your recipe, you only need to use 17g of Soya Wax, replacing the 3g difference with
3ml/g of vegetable oils.
Please see pages 23-24 for your free Soya Wax Recipes for Lip Balms and Balms/Ointments!

New Information regarding the
use of Natural Surfactant Base
together with Fat Restorer
When I introduced these two new raw materials I unfortunately listened
to the products producers on how to use them. Although I was illadvised, and there has been nothing wrong with the performance of the
product made following their guidelines, the Body Washes, Shampoos
and Cleansers were a bit too runny.
To change the Body Wash to a creamier and thicker consistency , I now recommend using 10% Natural Fat
Restorer instead of the initially recommended dosage of 1-3%. To stabilise the consistency, I also added 1%
Xanthan Gum to the updated recipes below.

New Tips for using Cold Emulsifier (Organic)
When making creams and lotions with Cold Emulsifier, the method is that you use a gel along with the with the
Cold Emulsifier and other ingredients. Usually we have recommended that you use cellulose to make the gel but
Mike Harmon has been doing some testing and has found that you can replace the usual Cellulose with Konjac
Glucomannan Powder as a gel thickener for making the gel that you need to add to the Cold Emulsifier when
making creams and lotions. 1g/1% is enough in the gel recipe to make a lotion. And 1.3-1.5% in the gel recipe to
make a cream. Follow the recipes you have in all other respects.
Creams and lotions made with Cold Emulsifier and Konjac Glucomannan Powder dont have that sticky skin
feeling you get when you use Cellulose as the gel thickener.
Konjac Glucomannan Powder creates the same nice skin feeling that you get from an artificial carbomer, but of
course it is natural!
2.
3.
4.
Sprinkle the measured Konjac Glucomannan Powder over the COLD water and whisk continuously until
it thickens. [NB You must use cold water in this recipe as if you use boiling water with this amount of
Konjac Glucomannan Powder the gel will thicken too fast and it will be impossible to work with.]
Add the preservative.
Cool down.
Store in an airtight container if not using immediately.

Skin Rejuvenation
Actives - which one is
best for your skin care product?
As you will know we supply very exciting natural active ingredients for skin rejuvenation. Each has their unique
properties as I see no point in providing different raw materials with exactly the same properties. Here is a very
short overview of a few of them (excluding Active Moisturisers like Hyaluronic Acid) and their effects on the
skin.
Dosage: 0.5-2%.
Oil-soluble.
Coenzyme Q10 is essential for "cell
breathing" and energy transportation in
the mitochondria and is essential to
generate energy (ATP) for the body. From
about 40-50 years of age the coenzyme
Q10 serum levels in the body start to
decrease. After topical application of Q10
plus E, skin enzymes will release the active
antioxidants tocopherol and ubiquinol.
The ability of the skin to regenerate itself
is strongly supported by coenzyme Q10
which also reduces the depth of wrinkles.
Liftonin (N)
Dosage: 2-5%. Water-soluble.
See more info on pages 3 as well as pages 17-23 of this
Newsletter. Improves skin structure. Has tannins from oak,
which are astringent and skin-tautening. Liftonin contains
botanical silicon from millet, which has high bio-availability
thereby promoting the production of the skin's structural
proteins. The new production of collagen and glucosamine
glucans is accelerated gives skin a silky feeling. The skin
profile is improved from within. The other active ingredient
in Liftonin are tannins from oak, which have an astringent
and tautening effect. As natural complexing agents they
neutralise harmful metal ions and protect the skin with
their anti-oxidative properties. Studies show reduced lines
and wrinkles and younger skin appearance.

Healing Balm with Soya Wax
Natural healing balms are easy products to make at home. They are
used mostly on dry, cracked skin and for minor injuries to the skin. A
simple base natural ointment can be made from Vegetable Oils and
Soya Wax. The Vegetable Oils nourish the skin whilst at the same time
softening and protecting it. The Soya Wax protects the skin whilst giving
the healing balm its consistency. The Vegetable Oils, Botanical CO2
Extracts and Essential Oils you choose to add to your balm will
determine its specific healing benefits. Using Soya Wax instead of
