BY SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION TO AMC 2016/17 AND CHECKING THE BOX, THE TEAM
MEMBER SUBMITTING THIS APPLICATION ATTESTS THAT HE/SHE ACCEPTS THE FOLLOWING
TERMS AND CONDITIONS (BOTH ON HIS/HER BEHALF AND ON BEHALF OF EACH TEAM
MEMBER):
1. A contestant compe0ng in AMC 2016/17 will consist of teams mee0ng these criteria:
Par0cipants must hold a passport from the Pan-Arab or African Region, and will only be
own from Middle East or Africa to Cairo.
All members of your team must be over the age of eighteen (18)
2. Factors that may be considered as it relates to your entry include:
Does the solu0on ll a void in the market place?
How eec0ve has the solu0on been in lling an exis0ng gap in current mobile apps?
Is your start up commercially sustainable and how you reect that in your deck?
Social impact of the solu0on
3. By par0cipa0ng in this compe00on, you agree to abide by the guidelines rela0ng to any visa,
travel, accommoda0on or other arrangements made for you in the event of travel. For
example, and not limited to:
If you qualify to the Regional Final, then only One (1) team member can be nominated
for AMC to cover travel and accommoda0on for
AMC is not responsible for visa, travel, accommoda0on or other of family/friends
You are responsible for your own visa arrangements to the MWC in Barcelona, Spain
should you qualify, and in the instance this is not organised AMC reserves the right to
nominate another team.
AMC will cover the cost of one (1) team member to MWC.
AMC is NOT responsible for ying team members residing outside the MENA region. This
is a Pan-Arab and African compe00on; ight arrangements are only within the
respec0ve region.
4. Your team should not have received more than One Hundred Thousand US Dollars ($100,000
USD) in seed funding in order to qualify in the start up track. AMC reserves the right to
request clarica0on from the team.
5. Your team should have received ZERO funding to qualify for the idea track.
6. The judging panel will comprise of an appropriate balance from industry leaders. The judging
panel decision will be nal and binding.
7. It is the teams responsibility to submit their applica0on details by the submission deadline.
All teams that have submihed will be no0ed if they have been qualied or not to con0nue
to the semi nals/nals round.
8. AMC reserves the right to disqualify teams not following guidelines.
9. Each team member agrees and understands that their entry and par0cipa0on in AMC
2016/17 gives the founders and their agents, representa0ves and contractors permission
and full authority to use their name, likeness, and photograph in connec0on with the Arab
Mobile Challenge.
10. None of the founders claim ownership rights in or 0tle to intellectual property associated
with your mobile app entry. However, by entering the Compe00on, you and your team
grant and give the founders, agents and each of AMC 2016/17s sponsors, hosts and partners
the right to use, refer to, describe, photograph, lm, and publish in any form and in any
medium (as examples only, in print, websites, social media networks, television and signage)
informa0on, photographs, likenesses, diagrams, data, and any other materials or

informa0on rela0ng to your mobile app for all purposes rela0ng to the Arab Mobile App
Challenge and the adver0sing, promo0on and publicizing of AMC 2016/17. This grant is
provided without further no0ce, approval, or authoriza0on from you or compensa0on to
you.
The founders, agents and contractors may share with third par0es, including media and the
general public, and place into the public domain, the name, likeness, data, and all other
informa0on concerning team members and the teams mobile app entry. Teams are solely
responsible for legal protec0on of their entry before submikng this applica0on, including as
it relates to intellectual property rights.
None of the founders, agents, contractors will be considered in viola0on of or infringing
upon any trademark, copyright, patent or other intellectual property licenses, ownership
rights or interests in and to the mobile app and all materials and informa0on submihed to
AMC 2016/17 by your, your team members or your representa0ves at any 0me, including at
any point aler AMC 2016/17 has concluded.
Each team member releases, indemnies and holds harmless the founders, agents and
contractors, and their directors, employees, contractors and aliates, as well as all partners,
hosts and sponsors of AMC 2016/17, from and against any and all liability, claims, causes of
ac0on, damages and judgments resul0ng from or in connec0on with the mobile app entry
submihed by you or par0cipa0on by you and your team members in AMC 2016/17,
including from and against alleged acts of wilful or other negligence, fraud, intellectual
property infringements, omissions or misconduct, unless prohibited by law.
Failure to meet deadlines or miss any required events may result in disqualica0on of your
team and your teams entry.
Employees and consultants of founders, partners, agents, contractors and members of their
immediate families are not eligible to enter AMC 2016/17.
The laws of the UAE apply to these Terms and Condi0ons and all aspects of AMC 2016/17.
In case of disputes, all mahers will be resolved by arbitra0on, to be conducted by one (1)
arbitrator, to be held in the English language, with the arbitra0on taking place in Dubai, UAE.
