Figure 1 above shows the layout for a conveyor placement from a tutorial that has been
taught in last class. Conveyor 1 carry part A which is the green color to the conveyor A1. Part B
is the red color. Conveyor A1 will separates part into two lane. Part A will be moving to machine
1 which is purple color and part B will be moving to machine 2 (cyan color). The data from this
simulation tutorial is recorded in the table below. The simulation is started at 1000 seconds and
the increment for each run is 1000 seconds until 10th run.

DISCUSSION
From table 1, the result shows that the busy-loaded travel time is increasing from run 1 to
run 10 for each conveyor. This is because part A and part B is moving faster before the machine
can do their process. The busy-loaded time increasing when the runtime becomes longer. Next is
table 2, showing the result for busy-empty travel time. Conveyor1_1 showing a constant result
for all test run. While the other conveyor shows an increasing result from each run. This is
because conveyor1_1 is carrying part A only while the others carry both part. Therefore, it can be
said that part travel along will give impact to the busy-empty travel time. Table 3 shows the
result for utilization for each conveyer. The most utilization occur in conveyer1_1 because it
carry both part A and part B. Table 4 contains result about average load. The result is affected by
the number of part produce. Low average load means that the part produce is small. Table 5 is
about no of entries. This result shows the number of part entering each conveyer. The number of
entries is increasing for each conveyer throughout the run1 to run10. From table 6, it tells about
average part residence time. Average part residence time is constant for each conveyer except
conveyer1_1. This is because it carries both part A and part B. Table 7 produce the result for
transport rate. The speed for each conveyer is set to 0.5m/s. The transport rate is depend on the
length for each conveyer. The longer the length for conveyer, the smaller transport rate will be
produce. Lastly, Table 8 shows the final content result. The result is based on the part available
on top of each conveyer at the end of test run. The result is showing a different set of result for
each run. From the results obtain, the relationship of time, length of conveyor, speed of
conveyor, and type of part running on the conveyor is dependable on each other. It needs to be
set correctly so the efficiency for the conveyer is increase.
