Quizlet is a website where students are able to make their own


flashcards whether on their phone or on the computer. They can share
this with friends and the public. Quizlet has features that allow them to
be quizzed on their own note cards as well.

It is a web 2.0 tool because it is a website as well as an app that can be
used to help students learn.
Benefits you can use it anywhere and easy to use. Barriers sometimes
need the internet in order to update and share also you are going to
need some sort of technological device to make it work
I could use this in my class by asking them to make cards in order to
study for the next exam.

Evernote

Evernote is a website that is essentially a notebook that you can write


things down on and share with other people and allows other people to
access it and leave notes or comments.

It is a Web 2.0 because it is a tool that students can use in order to
keep their notes electronically or express their ideas through media
Benefits it is easy to use and you are able to receive comments and
questions. Barriers some say it has a past of giving viruses and people
could write inappropriate things on it.
I could ask my students as a homework assignment to create an
evernote in order to create a study guide for the lesson they learned in
class this way at the end of the year they can look back at a study
guide for each lesson to use for the final or to look back in later math
classes.

Box of Tricks

Box of Tricks is a website that offers the best educational websites that
are free that teachers and students can use.

Web 2.0 tool because it allows students and teachers to access
websites that will better enforce a lesson or even introduce the lesson.

Benefits there are so many options and it is free website. Barriers you
need a computer or some sort of way to access the internet to use it
also there are a lot of websites to look through
I could use this in class to introduce a lesson, overview to review what
we just learned, or if I have a struggling student they can use it to work
on it for extra practice.

Edmodo:

Is a different version of Blackboard that teachers can use in order to


communicate with their classess. Students are able to take quizzes and
submit their homework assignments on it as well as other things.

it is a Web 2.0 tool because it is an app as well as an app that students


and teachers are able to use in order to help with educational things as
well as them getting use to some sort of program like this.

Benefits are that it is easy for teachers to use and well as students.
Barriers sometime there can be glitches and might be hard if students
dont have access to some sort of technological device or internet
access outside of school.

Prezi:

Prezi is an online website that allows people to make Power points with
a more creative edge to it that tends to intrigue people more.

It is a web 2.0 tool because students can access it and use it to display
information in a fun innovative way.

Benefits displays information more creatively than just a plan Power


Point. Barriers are that it can be difficult to navigate through if its your
first time and if not done correctly can be confusing to look at.

I would use this in my lesson by asking students to use it in order to


display a project at least once to figure out what they like.

Audacity:

Audacity can be downloaded for free on a computer in order to record


sounds/voices/music and allows you to edit them and then later can be
used to publish it online to share with other people.

It is a web 2.0 tool because students can download it and use it to


share with other people online or even just share privately with their
friends

Benefits of this is that it is free to download and can be used to do


multiple things. Barriers students not be able to download it at home
so easily.

This can be used in my class if I ask my students to verbally explain a


math concept or a math equation and explain step by step to do it.

Google Doc:

Google docs is an online extension to gmail that allows people to make


a lot of things similar to Microsoft word, excel, Power point etc.
Students are able to share with other students in order to create things
together and work on it simultaneously.

It is a Web 2.0 tool because it can be used online in order to help


students to complete a lot of projects or activities while interacting
with other people.

Benefits can be used to create things for free that still come out similar
to Microsoft products. Disadvantages needs internet in order to use it.

I would ask my students when they are working on a group project to


use this in order to communicate with each other and do the work
together.

Wix:
- Wix is a website where you can create your own website

- Web 2.0 tool because students can use it on their own to create things
to further learning
- Benfits it is easy to use because there is a tutorial that goes alone with
it and you can insert anything that you want. Barriers could be that if

you dont have internet access.


I could use this in my class and ask my students to make their own
website. Or I could make a site for my students to use as my webpage
to find information pertaining to our class.

Voki
- A website where you can make an avatar and type what you want
them to say in order to present information

- Web 2.0 tool because students can use it as a technological device that
can help students present information
- Benefits are that it is an interesting way to present information.
Barriers there could be some issues with no access to internet or at
times can be confusing or may not pronounce things properly
- I could ask my students to use this as a presentation tool
TED
- Ted is a website where they have informational videos from people who
come to spread there ideas from all around the world

- Web 2.0 tool because it is sharing information from all around the
world in order to gain more knowledge
- Benefits it is really easy to access and has a lot of information to give.
Barriers I do not really see any.
- I would use this in my class if I found one that was relevant to a topic
we were talking about in our class
