We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of:
Socio-Economy Coordinator for
Peru Programme

This position reports to the Technical Manager and he/she is responsible for the
coordination and support to all socio-economic analyses that will support CI`s long term
Respect strategic outcomes. Key activities are: (a) provide advice and support the Ministry of
Environment in the design, development and implementation of national systems to
monitor natural capital and estimating the effects of climate change on national
economy; (b) conduct network analyses to identify key stakeholders in the area that CI
works; conduct socio-economic assessments at all spatial scales; develop threat and
cost-benefits analyses by using socio-economic data; (c) support the development and
implementation of options for long-term financial sustainability of protected areas and
indigenous lands; (d) evaluate governance systems at different spatial scales (from site
to national levels); promote the creation of governance formal structures along the
regions; (e)monitor, analyze direct and indirect threats to the outcomes driven by
commercial activity, along with opportunities for engagement and conservation; (f)
Optimism engage communities and the corporate sector into the conservation initiatives and (g)
assistance on fundraising activities, such as development of proposals to potential
donors.

Ideal candidate should possess a BSc or MSc in Economy, Social Sciences or other
related area with at least three years of experience in socio-economic analysis at
several spatial spaces economic valuation, community work and local socio-economic
analysis. Experience in economic valuation of ecosystems services and expertise in
local development projects is desirable. This position requires capacity to lead, plan,
coordinate and supervise team activities, experience working with local communities
(indigenous and non indigenous) and willingness to accommodate to possible harsh
Integrity field conditions. At least ten domestic and/or international trips per year. Excellent
communication skills in both English and Spanish.

We offer a contract until June 30th 2011 (which can be renewed) with all the legal
