INVITATION OF APPLICATIONS/NOMINATIONS
FOR THE POST OF VICE-CHANCELLOR
Tamil Nadu National Law School (TNNLS), Tiruchirappalli, is one of the youngest
National Law Schools in the country which was established through the Tamil Nadu National
Law School Act, 2012. The post of Vice-Chancellor of TNNLS has fallen vacant. A Selection
Committee for selecting a suitable candidate has now been duly constituted and it consists
of:
1. Prof. (Dr.) Ranbir Singh, Vice-Chancellor, National Law University Delhi
2. Prof. (Dr.) Mahendra Pal Singh, Former Vice-Chancellor, West Bengal National
University of Judicial Sciences
3. Dr. S.S.P. Darwesh, Former Vice-Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University,
Chennai.
The Selection Committee now invites applications/nominations from eminent
academicians in the field of Law who are interested to serve TNNLS as its
Vice-Chancellor. Applicants must be scholars of eminence with
demonstrable
leadership qualities and administrative capabilities. The terms of appointment will be as per the
provisions of the Tamil Nadu National Law School Act, 2012.
The Vice-Chancellor will be expected to be a person of proven leadership quality who
would be able to support the Universitys mission of promoting teaching and research at
the highest level of excellence. The Vice-Chancellor should also have the ability to promote
the University at the national and international level for development of strong linkages
with academic institutions of repute, Government and Industry. He/She should be able to
create a vibrant, engaging and creative environment for effective teaching/learning and
stimulating high quality research. Interested candidates may apply with their detailed
Resume/CV along with a vision statement for TNNLS (not exceeding 1000 words).
Institutions / Eminent Scholars / Judges / Legal Practitioners may also nominate suitable
candidates.
The Selection Committee shall recommend a panel of three names to the
Chancellor of TNNLS (Honble Chief Justice of Madras High Court). The Selection Committee has

communication.
Applications / Nominations may be sent either by Speed Post or electronic form to the
Nodal Officer not later than September 19, 2016. The shortlisted candidates may make a
power point presentation about their vision of developing TNNLS as a Centre of Excellence in
Legal Education and Research. They will be informed about the date etc., for the interaction
with the Selection Committee. The shortlisted candidates shall also be provided T.A./D.A as
per the University rules.
