Also, please commit to pray for them as
they go out to love and serve. This
opportunity reminds me of the story of
a famous missionary hymn that was
recently revived and rewritten by the
Gettys.

On Friday night our church had a great opportunity to

join others in our community loving on nearly 1,000
kids! Thanks to everyone who donated candy! At no
point were we in danger of running out due to your
generosity, and desire to love and serve others!

Special thanks to Tamara Astacio Llano, Julian Llano,

Larry Barrett, Patricia Barrett, Bob Tompkins, Sandy
Tompkins, Tasha Schifo, and all those who donated their
time and candy!

On March 29th, 1929, following a

difficult time in the history of China, the
China Inland Mission led by D.E Hoste,
issued a call for 200 new missionaries
within two years.
The hymn Facing a Task Unfinished
is a hymn for that forward movement
written by Frank Houghton for the
Annual Meeting in May 1931 in support
of the appeal for the two hundred. As
these words called them then, they still
call us today: to love, serve and share
the grace of God.
Facing a task unfinished,
That drives us to our knees. A need
that, undiminished, Rebukes our
slothful ease. We, who rejoice to know
Thee. Renew before Thy throne, The
solemn pledge we owe, Thee To go
and make Thee known.

discuss Advent, the Christmas season, as
well as updates on how god is being glorified
in our ministries.

We believe that the mission of Jesus: To reach the world by

loving others in real practical ways is entirely possible.

We are at 32 boxes of diapers. Can we reach

our goal of over 40 boxes by November 6th?

difference. We are meeting
every week, twice a week, through
November 6th.
Since September 28th, there have
been 527 lives saved by those of us
who have been walking, praying and
loving others!

Isaiah 2:5 says,Come let us walk in the light of
the Lord. Whenever I read this verse I am
reminded of a familiar hymn, Turn your eyes upon
Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face, and the
things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light
of His glory and grace.
The most glorious truth we can encounter, the
most glorious thing we can see, is God. And when
we see God it disrupts the apathy, the conformity,
and the complacency we so often wander into.
I say wander trying to be generous because I
believe that we intentionally shift our deepest
fears, sins, or struggles from God, and hide them
behind amusement and achievement rather than
confidently take them before the Lord.
Hebrews 4:6 says: Let us then with confidence
draw near to the throne of grace, that we may
receive mercy and find grace to help in time of
need.
The call is to come confidently to the throne, the
very presence of God is real, and the the mercy
and grace He offers is greater than anything we
can experience or achieve.

Ernest Becker wrote in his book The Denial of

Death We disguise our struggles with position
and pride to reflect privately our heroic sense of
self worth. By having a little better home, a little
better car, a little nicer clothes, brighter children,
and a fuller calendar we are ok, but underneath it
all throbs an absolute ache.
This ache can only be dealt with by our glorious
God who is more than willing to come to His
beloved children in love and disrupt their apathy
and complacency. If you dont know anything else
you must know that you know, that you are
beloved, and knowing that creates confidence.
It has been in the most difficult of seasons in my
life I have needed to remember the words of Paul
in Philippians 1:6 who said,Being confident of
this, that he who began a good work in you will
bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
In this you can be confident: God finishes what He
started. Therefore, dont run from Him but to Him
with all the confidence of the beloved children that
you are!
