In Republic of Moldova schools are organized around yesterday's ideas, yesterday's

needs, and yesterday's resources (and they weren't even doing very well yesterday). Consider the
most common classroom approach: one teacher standing in front of thirty children trying to get
each one to be at the same place at the same time. This approach has the advantage of being
relatively inexpensive, but it flies in the face of everything scientists have discovered about
children's natural learning mechanisms, which are primarily experimentation and reflection. In
other words, learning by doing. The problem is that the society build schools, universities that
achieve much less than they promise, are frustrating for students, and generally fail to help
children become adults who can think for themselves.
Today, the level of dissatisfaction and even outright anger at the educational system is
tremendously high. Why? Because educational system is not adapted to market realities, it`s
inefficient, the presence of corruption, the lack of meritocracy and creativity, politicization of
educational institutes, the lack of professors evaluation by students etc. Education is a process
whereby some essential body of knowledge is transmitted to students; schools are places where
that transmission officially takes place. The development of flexible, inquiring minds has rarely
been the primary consideration in the design of educational systems. Making students into proper
members of society has usually been of much greater concern than developing students who are
creative thinkers.
We can`t talk about strengthened democracy without quality education. A good education
of individuals provides critical spirit. Consolidated democracy claims society to exercise
effective control over governments through debate and sustained critique. Without a permanent
public control, governments tend to get unlimited power.
In our society schools offers social protection to people not education. Labor market of
RM show a substantial imbalance between supply and demand, as well as a shortage of qualified
labor. Analysis of employment areas and unemployment structure indicates that the education
system is not sufficiently connected to labor market requirements and provides no relevant
qualifications.
Informing became a priority, instead of forming. Early vocational
orientation, the values cultivation and social behavior must be the pillars of
national education system.

It's easy to see equity in education as a matter of fairness, access, and inclusion, but that's
only the case if what's being fairly accessed is a system of teaching and learning that's fluid,
responsive, dynamic, neutral, alive, and able to meet the needs of an increasingly global
population.
All countries face challenges in adapting their education systems to the vast
transformations taking place around the world. No nation has a monopoly on excellence. What
should we do? - build an effective education system. How? By inauguration of a pay system
based on performances, stimulating competitiveness between teachers/ professors/ students, by

creating high-quality teachers and school leaders. How many times we heard from our leaders
during their political campaigns that they will raise people from poverty, achieve greater equality,
develop a well- functioning multi-cultural society and, certainly, create a thriving economy and a
growing number of good jobs. Each of these statements have a long-term vision for how
education can achieve this, which is widely shared inside and outside the education system.
Unfortunately, they don`t channel their dreams for their society, which is correct and viable in
countries with high-performing education system.
It`s necessary to change the educational system in Moldova. Firstly we should start by
reducing compulsory education until the eighth grade, the schools and university should
introduce multiple profiles, students should be able to choose their own courses, teachers should
become supervisors of students, the institution school should take the franchise model and
parents should be directly involved in educational-training process in Moldova. At first blush,
that`s not too much, but it not persists the desire to change and the willpower. The lack of
motivation it`s another problem because students do not believe that their efforts will improve
their performance, and they do nothing to improve yourself, parents are not involved in building
a self confidence of their children.
Ours is a very resourceful country, we have a lot of potential and enough room for
creativity. If we combine our own assets with the world's best practices, we could indeed develop
a world-class education system for our children and grandchildren.
