To Whom it May Concern:
It is with great pleasure and support that I write this recommendation on behalf of Mr. John Mikulski who is,
applying for the position of Alden Intermediate School Principal. | have had the distinct privilege of working with
John for the past two and half years in the Clarence Central District and can say with great confidence that he is
one of the most committed and innovative educators in the profession and would be an outstanding addition to
your administrative team. He is without question one the top performing building administrators | currently know.
| have witnessed Mr. Mikulski’s work in multiple capacities. As an Assistant Principal, he has been directly
responsible for facilitating initiatives pertaining to instructional technology and administrative uses of technology
in the Clarence Schoo! District. John has facilitated grade level curriculum team meetings and organized efforts to
provide staff development that resulted in a greater common understanding of best instructional practices. Itis
with this type of vision and perseverance that John strives to provide best practice and instruction to our teachers
and students.
Mr. Mikulski is always seeking out his own professional growth and ways in which he can share what he learns
with others. Specifically, he attended the National Schoology Conference and upon his return immediately
initiated a virtual professional learning community for teachers to collaborate and share best practices. His ability
to connect with others while maintaining focus on student learning and achievement have benefited Clarence
Middle School and the District at large.
Mr. Mikulski is well respected by students, teachers, administrators and families. John has a reputation of
accessibility, follow up, and follow through. His attention to detail and communication skills ensure valuable and
timely support and service to our District stakeholders.
| support Mr. Mikulski in his candidacy for this position without reservation. If I can be of any assistance in his,
successful candidacy, please call me at (716) 407-9109 or email me at koverholt@clarenceschools.org.
