November 2016

Mr. Crocillas Corner

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,
The end of Trimester 1 is upon us. The
leaves are falling and our students are growing!
With the introduction of our latest positivebehavior system, Class Dojo, the students are
learning to set good examples for their peers
and are striving to become active leaders of our
school. With good choices, comes great
rewards! Students are being rewarded with
fun coupons to utilize in our classroom, such as
Free Choice Time, Line Leader
for the Day, and Hat Pass!
During the month of October, we
started piloting our new ELA
curriculum (Benchmark Advance),
enjoyed a visit/assembly with a
second real-life author (Tracey
Hecht, The Nocturnals),
highlighted our love for
learning and reading at our
annual Craughwell
celebrations: Family Education
Night and Family Reading Night, as well as
had our first holiday party of the year,
Halloween, with the help of some fantastic
parent volunteers! I am eager to meet with
parents/guardians in the upcoming
conferences to discuss any concerns and share
the wonderful things that our students are
doing in our classroom so far this school year!

Thank You!
Thank you to the parent volunteers that not only planned, but also helped and celebrated with us during our
Halloween Party! The fourth graders were so excited about our celebration and with your support they
had a blast eating treats, coloring Halloween-themed pictures, painting pumpkins, and playing Halloween
BINGO! This party would not have been possible without your hard work and collaboration.
