Some experts believe that it is better for children to learn a

foreign language from primary school than secondary school.

Do the advantages outweight the disadvantages?

Specialists have different views about the best point for children to
absorb a new language. While there are some benefits if children begin
studying a foreign language from elementary school, I believe that its
drawbacks are more significant.
On the one hand, learning a new language from grade school would
offer several advantages. Firstly, owing to not having many assignments as
high-schoolers, grade-schoolers could have more leisure time to study
another language. This would give rise to an auspicious beginning than
others, not to mention the fact that the younger the schoolchildren are, the
easier learning a new language is. In addition, thanks to having been a
bilingual when studying in secondary school, students would have more
opportunities to apply for projects requiring foreign language or scholarships
such as academic or cultural sharing scholarships. Meanwhile, students who
are newcomers to foreign language would miss these golden chances to
success.
However, I believe absorbing a new language from primary school
would adversely affect children. First of all, due to studying more than others
one subject, their academic results could be inferior to others. Children,
therefore, might seriously feel crushed and be tired of learning as soon as
they start school. In contrast, if children subsequently learn a second
language, they would be increasingly self-confident of their educational
results when being grade-schooler, which lead schooling to be their liking
and they would gradually make progress. Moreover, shaping new culture
through learning foreign language could disturb regular activities of children.
For example, Vietnamese children possibly embrace another to exchange
courtesies like an American when attempting to imitate what they have seen
and learned, which would cause many serious problems when children grow
up.
In conclusion, while learning a foreign language from primary school is
beneficial to some extent, I would argue that it has more disadvantages.
