DuraDuct SED: Single Wall Kitchen Exhaust Duct

DuraDuct Model SED is a pre-manufactured, single wall

kitchen exhaust duct system, rated for 18 clearance to
combus bles. As the largest UL 1978 and CAN/ULC-S662
listed exhaust duct system in the industry, DuraDuct SED
is compliant with the requirements of the IMC, NBCC and
NFPA codes. Featuring 108 long sec ons and installer
friendly companion flange connec ons that include a high
temperature liquid ght sealing system, the SED system
eliminates the field welding required for contractor fabricated grease duct systems. By having a rectangular rather
than round footprint, addi onal flexibility is provided to
designers of Type I and Type II commercial kitchen exhaust duct systems, to achieve the required air flows
when shallow ceiling spaces limit the duct size. This system is also ideal for projects where mul ple hoods are
required to be combined into a common (manifold) duct,
giving the designer the ability to reduce the required area
and cost of installing mul ple duct runs. Constructed of
code compliant 18 gauge stainless steel, DuraDuct SEDs

inner and outer surfaces are easily cleaned of grease or

other contaminants ensuring the longevity and code compliance of the system. The DuraDuct SED flanges can be
bolted directly to the flanges of DuraDuct KEX providing a
direct transi on when a zero clearance or 2 hour fire rated exhaust system is required, oering a complete, cost
eec ve exhaust solu on. For those occasions when reduced clearances are required but a zero clearance is not
required, NFPA 96 compliant op ons are also available.
Listed access doors are factory installed into the duct secon while other components such as end caps, terminaons, drain sec ons, sprinkler head access ports, roof
flashings, hood and fan adaptors and duct support designs are included in the complete SED system scope. Extensive structural, fire and leakage tes ng has been performed on the DuraDuct SED system ensuring a safe and
cost eec ve solu on for new restaurant exhaust systems, commercial kitchens, and retrofi ng kitchen
exhaust duct systems.
