New Spaces, New Faces

There are a lot of new things happening at Oaks! Let's sum up:
1. Moving Day for Oaks: God willing, we plan to move out of
Oaks Cafe (the diner we've rented since 2012) and into our new
basement space by November 1. A dedicated and faithful team of
volunteers has given hours of scrubbing, wall boarding, painting,
and other projects too numerous to mention here. We are deeply
grateful for their generosity toward the people of North Troy.
Meanwhile, the remodeling of the rest of the building will
continue. We hope to complete our chapel sometime this winter.
In addition, we will all be living on-site. Mtr. Hannah and
Shannon Ames (see below) have already moved in, and the
Hunter family will be joining them shortly.
2. Mother Hannah on leave: As you know, Mtr. Hannah went on a
6-week medical leave last winter in an eort to overcome
complications from the Epstein-Barr virus. The leave helped
greatly, but Hannah's health has plateaued since returning to
work, and she has contracted chronic fatigue syndrome. After

discussion and prayer, we thought it best that Hannah take a

longer leave of 3 to 6 months in an eort to fully regain her vigor.

About Us
Oaks of Righteousness is a
Christian ministry of the
Episcopal Diocese of Albany.
We believe that Jesus Christ is
fulfilling this Scripture in the lives
of the people of North Troy:

3. New Staer: We are delighted to welcome Shannon Ames to

the sta of Oaks of Righteousness. Shannon worked from 2010 to
2015 at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center in areas ranging
from youth ministry to worship leading to administration.
Shannon recently completed a mission trip with Youth With a
Mission. She is a thoughtful, gifted, passionate Christ-follower,
and we are grateful to have her on our team.
In addition, we are grateful to have Fr. Paul Hunter, the Cathedral
Canon for Mission, helping with some liturgical and outreach
duties at Oaks while Mtr. Hannah is away.
Please keep these many transitions in your prayers!

"The Spirit of the Lord God is

upon me, because the Lord has
anointed me to bring good news
to the poor...that they may be
called oaks of righteousness, the
planting of the Lord, that He may
be glorified" (Isaiah 61:1, 3b).

The Kabod Underground

Oaks is planning a new series of monthly outreach events
beginning in October. "The Kabod Underground" will be a
nighttime worship/open mic coeehouse in the basement of our
new building. ("Kabod" is the Hebrew word for "glory").

Please pray for this eort -- for God to supply musicians, artists,
instruments/food needs. Please also pray for the Holy Spirit to
draw people from Troy to this event and to speak to them of the
goodness and beauty of God through the worship and fellowship.
