API Certificate Exam Preparation Programme

The ASME Plant Inspector level 1 course provides a gateway to the

ASME Plant Inspector Certificate Programme (PICP), and covers the
fundamental basics required before moving on to ASME level 2 or
API inspection qualifications.

To become API certified Inspectors, delegates are required to

meet the criteria set by API and pass the formal examinations at
an authorised API examination centre.

Delegates gain extensive technical knowledge of inspection

principles, frequencies and equipment damage mechanisms, and
knowledge of the types and techniques of inspection. By the end
of the course, delegates are able to carry out practical inspections
and write narrative technical descriptions. Introduction of pressure
equipment stresses and design provides the required knowledge
base for progressing onto the more technical courses.

Edif ERA provide exam preparation courses for a range of API

courses including:
API 510 Pressure Vessel Inspector
API 570 Pipework Inspector
API RP 580 Risk Based Inspection (e-learning only)
API RP 571 Damage Mechanisms (e-learning only)
API 653 Storage Tank Inspector

ASME Plant Inspector level 2 and 3 offer delegates with the

opportunity to develop a higher level of technical knowledge
covering advanced aspects of in-service inspection of pressure
equipment and related plant in the energy sector.

We offer a blended learning option for most courses, combining

e-learning modules with a classroom course held prior to the
examination. The flexibility allows delegates to work around
existing work commitments, but also benefit from concentrated
practice and support in preparation for the API examinations.
