I purchased this unit new in the late '70s or early '80s and barely used it. The 1330 was the standard
acoustic preamp unit from that time and used by many famous players including Jimmy Page. Can
be used with both acoustic and electric guitars. Auction includes a vintage Texas Transducer unit
and cable for use with acoustic instruments. This setup would be great for anyone trying to recreate some of the classic tones from that era.
The preamp is in great shape, the only defect is a missing circular metallic decal on the Sensitivity
adjustment knob. Battery terminals are perfect as I always removed the battery before storage. The
output can be run to an amplifier or, I believe, used to record directly. I have tested it with a Fender
Stratocaster and it is working perfectly. Very cool sounding preamp even with an electric! Features
controls for Volume, Sensitivity (gain), plus Treble and Bass controls. Comes in the original box.
The transducer can be used to amplify an acoustic instrument by attaching it to the bridge of an
acoustic guitar or other acoustic instrument and plugging the cable (included) into the preamp. I
recall using some type of non-permanent adhesive that resembled putty to attach it to the bridge,
but I know many players opted to attach it permanently--either on the bridge or mounted on or near
the bridge inside the guitar body.
