, The following, circular has been addressed.
"to the School Committees of every town in the
County. ‘It will -be seen, by a glance at its
-eantents, that it embraces topics; which interest
“parents, children, teachera, and society at large.
Wa doubt not, the * Board of Edacation” will
“receive the zealous ‘ee-operation of the intelli-
gent citizens of this County. Their address te
‘the People of Mazsachusetts,,we copied into the
SGazttte ‘of the 18th of. July last. In that ad-
dreas tha Board‘recommend that a Conyention
be held in each«County of the Stste, to be at-
tended by teachera from each town, by the
Bchoo! Gommittees, by the reverend Clergy,
and generally by all who take on interest, in the
great daty of educating the rising generation.
la ‘pursuance of thie plan, Hon, Horace
Menn, Secretary of the Boerd, will attend a
Convention, te be held in Salem,on Wednes-
‘day, the 8c day of November nozt, at the Ly-
‘eum Hall, at 10 o'clock A.M. In order to
+ direct attention to some leadiaig considerations,
the, Secretary proposes the following enquiries,
toswhich perticular answers aro requested:
