Disposal of plastic waste in environment is considered to be a big problem

due to its very low biodegradability and presence in large quantities
1. According to David Barnes, a lead author and researcher for the
British Antarctic Survey.
(One of the most ubiquitous and long-lasting recent changes to the surface of
our planet is the accumulation and fragmentation of plastics,)
1. Different kinds of plastic can degrade at different times, but the average
time for a plastic bottle to completely degrade is at least 450 years. It
can even take some bottles 1000 years to biodegrade!
2. The Philippines was ranked the 3rd top source of plastic leaking into oceans
in a February 2015 study. The country generates 2.7 million metric tons of
plastic garbage each year, 20% or 521,000 tons of which ends up in the
ocean.
2. The Philippines has been listed the third highest producer of plastic wastes thrown into the ocean
after China and Indonesia.

This shows how drastic is the problem of plastic waste in the Philippines.
So what can we do to help decrease the amount of plastic waste in the
Philippines?
Today, Ill be sharing a Study by ALQUINN B. TABLANG who is now a Instructor at
Central Luzon State University about plastic cHB.

There is two main subject in the study

CHB- Some of the reasons for this is their relative low cost when compared to other
materials and speed of installation by semi-skilled laborers.
Highly durable- it is compacted with high pressure and vibration which gives a
substantial strength to the block
Provide thermal and sound insulation- the air in the hollow of the block does
not allow outside heat or cold to pass through the house.
Economical- in terms of affordability a piece of concrete hollow block cost about 89 pesos.
Environment friendly- because one of the raw materials used in making hollow
blocks is fly ash
The most common use of fly ash is as a replacement for Portland cement used in
producing concrete. Concrete made with fly ash is stronger and more durable.
Low insurance rates

The typical ratio used in making CHB is Mix Proportion 1:7

bucket water : 1 bucket cement : 7 buckets sand

a. 1/2 bucket water: 1 bucket of cement : 5 bucket of grounded plastic :

2 buckets sand
b. 1/2 bucket water: 1 bucket of cement : 3.5 bucket of grounded
plastic : 3.5 buckets sand
c. 1/2 bucket water: 1 bucket of cement : 2 bucket of grounded plastic :
5 buckets sand
Cubic meter to metric ton
NORMALLY YOU CAN'T !---- ONE IS A WEIGHT MEASUREMENT, WHILE
THE OTHER IS A VOLUME MEASUREMENT.---UNLESS YOU SPECIFY A
SUBSTANCE OF WHICH YOU KNOW ITS MASS DENSITY
So for the sake of computation
I have research of how many kilograms are there in 1 cubic meter
In beach sand conversion 1 cubic meter is equivalent to 1,529.20 kilograms
Which lead us to the assume conversion of 1 cubic meter is equivalent to
2.41 metric ton

Lets go back to the amount of plastic that our country produce each year
So if we will base it on quantities we have a long way to go but if we think
about it there are

That we have all over the Philippines

So if you ask me ------
so Again ladies and gentlemen ,
