In this Customizing activity, you define the general eligibility checking rules in your company.
Requirements
You have defined the following eligibility criteria:
Pay scale criteria
Contract criteria
Dependents criteria
Marital status criteria
You define them in Customizing for Payroll Qatar, under Benefits -> Eligibility Check.
Standard settings
One general checking rule is composed by the following criteria:
Work-Related Criteria
You restrict the eligibility from an employee's work-related information, including:
Service period
Pay scale
Contract type
For example, you can define an employee with permanent contract must have worked over 5
years before he or she is eligible for a certain benefits.
Personal Criteria
You restrict the eligibility from an employee's personal information perspective. The following
criteria can be used:
Age
Gender
Nationality

In this step, you define pay scale rules and their attributes so that the employee's pay scale can be used
as an additional criterion in the eligibility process.
Example
You want to award a bonus to employees in a particular pay scale group and level. To do this, you can
define a pay scale rule and definition, that can then be entered in the appropriate eligibility rule.
Activities
1. Determine which pay scale rules you want to define
2. Choose New entries
3. Enter a name and a text for your pay scale rule
4. Choose Definition in the navigation area and then choose New entries to access the rule's
detail screen
5. Enter the relevant data to define your rule
Note
On the detail screen for your rule, you can define the rule's validity in such a way that, you can either
define a low to high, meaning that all the employees in the pay scale groups that fall between the low
and high values are eligible, or you can just define a low, meaning that only the employees in that
particular pay scale group are eligible.

3.2.4
In this Customizing activity, you define the eligibility criteria based on an employee's
dependents information, which is registered in the Family Member/Dependents (0021) infotype.
These dependents criteria are used to compose the common eligibility checking rules. Normally
the dependents criteria apply to the benefits in which the dependents are the beneficiaries.
Requirements
You have defined the type of dependents in Customizing for Personnel Management, under
Personnel Administration -> Personal Data -> Family -> Define Possible Family Members.
Activities
A dependent criterion determines the applicable employees based on the number of an
employee's dependents, that is, the total number of records in the infotype 0021.
In addition, a criterion restricts the beneficiaries from the following points:
Total number of dependents covered by benefits
Type of dependents
Number of each type of dependents
Age range of each type of dependents
