The Trek is an old trading route between India and Tibet across Unta Dhura. A
mesmerizing Trek taking you through Gauri Ganga and introducing you to the closest
encounter of the Nanda Devi peak.
You trek through the Gori Ganga gorge which is narrow initially, then opens up into
the wide expanse of the gentler trans-Himalayan region.There are quaint Himalayan
settlements on the way and villages like Burphu and Martoli have houses that are at
least one hundred and fifty years old reminding every one of the extent of IndoTibetan trade.

It is a Fairly Remote Trek and is now

Regarded as the classic Route from Gangotri
to Kinnaur.It was first crossed by Marco pallis
in 1933.The trek can be done from either
side.It introduces you to the extraordinary
landscape of Gangotri Valley and later
transforming into Bapsa Valley.

The Trek is difficult due to the Magnanimous

Lamkhaga Pass, the trail is marked by
chortens, snow slopes between the ribs and

of Pare Chu River.The route meanders through the deep gorges, cold desert
landscape of Spiti valley and the glacier, alpine lakes of Ladakh Region.
It Follows the tradition trade route of Spitians, Changthang and Tibet.The Trail
begins at Kibber, the breeding ground for Spiti horses , ascends at parang La the
source of Pare Chu River. The trail finally descends at Rupshu Plains of

Bagini Glacier runs down northwards from Changabang & Trishuli peaks (in
North-West rim of Nanda-Devi Sanctuary) and then the Bagini melt river turns
westwards where it is joined by Dunagiri Glacier waters running down from
Purbi-Dronagiri ridge. Further west, it is joined by the Lampak stream and finally
flows into the Dhauli-Ganga, just north of Jumma Village.
Located at an altitude of 14816 ft. Bagini Glacier provides an unbeatable trekking
experience to enthusiast.The Glacier is a part of Nanda Devi National park and
boasts of endless Himalayan Flora and Fauna. It provides close encounters with
Dunagiri, Changa Banga and Kalanka Peaks.
Changabang Base Camp is a huge amphitheatre. The peaks visible from here
are Hathi (6507m), Ghori,Satminal (6911m), Dunagiri East (7066m), Garur peak,

This is an incredible demanding trek.Though

possible from both sides of the of the same
valley, it is usually done from Thangi to
Chaitkul in same valley.The region was
opened to travellers in 1994 since then it is
frequented by Himalayan enthusiast each
year.

The Kinnaur Kailash Parikrama is of immense

religious significance which comes from a 79
feet vertical rock formation on its summit
that resembles a Shivalinga and changes
colour as the day passes on. The mountain is
considered sacred by both Hindus and
Buddhists and the pilgrim circle has been an
old age tradition.
The trail takes you through the mesmerizing
Charang la and offers magnificent views of
Kinnaur Kailash(6050m). It is demanding and
can ascend at 55 degrees near the pass.
