Weekly Newsletter

We are on the precipice; the edge of a

great and terrible moment. For many
reading this you may be nodding your
head in agreement.

This past weekend Pastor Jake, Tom and Kelly McGowan

and some of our students went to the Springfield Mission to
serve for the weekend. It was a time of growing, stretching
and trusting God! Thank you Jesus for always being their
strength and to everyone who prayed for them!
Helping Cleanup the Facility!

This election has been a mess. Things

have been revealed regarding the
failings of our political system, and the
fallen personal lives of even the best of
candidates. As I said, a mess, and
unfortunate season for all.
The most unfortunate thing I have
found, from supporters in both camps,
whether secular and Christian, is a
sense of great joy at the failings of
others. Certainly we thank God who
sheds light on dark things, but the
attitude of the Christian should never
rejoice in the failures of others
(1 Corinthians 13:6).
While I am unable to judge the human
heart, I do believe that no matter who
may be the winner tomorrow, both
remain in grave spiritual and eternal
danger. In neither candidate do I find
the evident outworking of the Fruit of
the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).

Worship Night!

Tomorrow we go as those who are

bound by our civic duty, voting our
conscience and choice. But we also go
as those bound by a greater spiritual
duty and authority. Therefore, we must
pray from the depths of our hearts for
both candidates, winner or loser, with
equal mercy and love because we
know what is really at stake.
Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer
to God for them is that they may be
saved (Romans 10:1).

We believe that the mission of Jesus: To reach the world by

loving others in real practical ways is entirely possible.

Did you know that due to a lack of funding in

Champaign County there is no cold weather
shelter for our brothers and sisters without
addresses in Champaign County?
We believe that it is the churchs Biblical
responsibility to take care of the least of
these by creating a place for our brothers and
sisters to go when the temperatures fall.
Currently we are asking you to join us in
praying for our involvement with other area
churches in creating and funding a January,
February and March, 7pm-7am cold weather
shelter that will provide a hot dinner,
breakfast and sack lunch for our brothers and
sisters without addresses.
The total cost is $28,500, divided between 50
churches is $570, our proposed total
commitment for the 3 months. Please Pray!

Together we
collected more
than 40 boxes of
diapers for Living
Alternatives
Pregnancy
Resource Center!
You have been a
HUGE blessing to
those in need!

Join us December 6th and

7th as we serve at the Salt

Who would have thought that

something as simple as a peanut
butter and jelly sandwich could make
the difference in someones life, but it
does. Stay tuned for dates where we
will gather to make sandwiches for the
Canteen Run.
We will also have opportunities to
serve on the Canteen
Run to see this
great ministry
in action!
