ABSTRACT
This software was developed to help in many areas of the engineering, like, surveyor
engineers, civil engineers, environmental engineers, forest engineer, and another fields.
This free software allows the user the analysis and develop Geographic information system
(GIS), where all the information of a project could be compilation in a data base that
represents graphically the study realized. To a Civil engineer, this software allows to do
Hydrology analyze, this is the most important service in this area. You can obtain the
watershed of a point of catchment, to know how many flow it is receiving, and youll
determinate if the input of the watershed is the enough to satisfy the demand of the town
that you going to bring potable water. Also, starting of satellite image downloaded, you can
obtain the contours of the topography of the study zone, with this tool and with the help
of the watershed, you can define the water bodies that there are, without you have to go
at the site of the project, of course, thats depend of the quality of the image and the scale
that you obtain the satellite image, this method is very useful when you want to define a
watersheds of a principal water bodies, because, it is very difficult obtain all the topography
of the a watershed so extend, and this water bodies can be determinate easily than others.

1. Debemos Ingresar a un servidor Web, y escribir QGIS en el buscador

2. Damos Clic en Download QGIS

4. Una vez determinado el sistema operativo, se procede a buscar las caractersticas

del mismo para instalar la versin correcta, al tratarse de Windows se debe definir
si el equipo trabaja x64 o x32 Bits. Para este caso utilizaremos Instalador
Autnomo de QGIS Versin2.16 (64 bit), como se muestra a continuacin.

3. Seleccionamos la versin que se desee, teniendo en cuenta el sistema operativo

del equipo, para este caso desplegaremos la instalacin para Windows

5. Una vez descargada la aplicacin hacemos clic sobre ella para que se despliegue el
instalador.

7. Nos aparecer el acuerdo de licencia de la aplicacin en donde se especifica que la

licencia es de tipo GNU, General Public License, lo cual asegura que es un software
libre, leemos el acuerdo y damos clic en Acepto.

6. Nos aparecer el cuadro de bienvenida, seguimos las indicaciones y damos clic en

siguiente.

8. El software por defecto se instala en la ruta que aparece en la imagen, si se desea

cambiar la ruta damos clic en examinar y seleccionamos la carpeta de destino, una
vez determinada la ruta damos clic en siguiente.

9. El instalador nos pregunta si queremos agregar los tres complementos que se

muestran en la imagen, al no pertenecer a la regin en donde se est instalando el
programa no los activamos, damos clic en Instalar

11. Una vez instalada la aplicacin, damos clic en Terminar

10. Esperamos mientras el programa se instala
