PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING, STORAGE, PACKING &

DELIVERY
PURPOSE
The purpose this procedure is to formulate a system for the proper handling,
storage, packing and delivery of products at all stages at Zaiqa Food Industries.
SCOPE
This procedure is applicable to handling, storage , packing and delivery of products
at all stages at Zaiqa Food Industries.
RESPONSIBILITY
In charge of concern departments are responsible for proper handling, storage,
packing & delivery of products at their respective departments.
PROCEDURE:
Handling and Storage:
1. Raw martial received is handled manually and stored in proper conditions.
Primary packaging material must be covered with plastic bags.
2. Damage and /or expired raw material/finished good must be reported to the
quality assurance department/Factory Manager.
3. Material stocks are maintained for receiving material from suppliers and issued to
different departments on Internal Requisition form.
4. Finished Goods Incharge issue/release the finished Goods. Finished Goods can
only be issued on product gate pass /release note signed by Factory Manager.
5. The processing departments receives raw material manually, all raw
material/packaging material receives from the store must be stored on pallets
and /or racks.
6. Finished goods in cartons are stacked on the pellets and shifted to the destination
mechanically.
Packing
1. Standard cartons are used for packing the finished goods.
2. Packaging material is store off the production.
3. Product name , batch code and weight are coded on the cartons for the
traceability/product recall purpose.
4. Cartons are transferred to finished goods storage area and placed safely before
delivery at appropriate places.
Release of Goods
1. The QA will be responsible to declare the product is fit for release to customer or
storage place.

2. The permission for release of the finished goods by QA will be based on the
following non-exhaustive list.
3. The product is according to the specifications
4. The packaging is intact
5. The coding is proper
6. Non-conforming in the process has been reported for the same product.
7. The finished goods will be accompanied by a product release note/gate pass
8. Delivery of the goods from storage will be given according to requirements as per
contract schedule
9. Export Manager and Factory Managers are responsible for proper and timely
delivery of goods to the customers.
Loading of Goods:
QA check the vehicle condition according to following criteria and record the
observations in Vehicle Inspection checklist (Ref: HCP-Rcd-005).
Checks Before Loading:
Fumigation conducted?
Cleanliness in container
Any unidentified material
Broken walls
Vehicle weight
Checks After Loading:
Carton bags Stacking Properly.
Any empty space
All security precautions like vehicle sealed, seal #, vehicle weight and vehicle
timeout, are checked.

Transportation of Goods:
To make sure that the care is taken after dispatch of products from factory and
during transportation, a transport contract is made between Zaiqa Foods and
transport contractor, in which all the points related to product safety and quality are
mentioned and agreed between both parties. (Ref: ZFI-COM-003)
