STARBURSTS ROCKS!!!
Today you will be creating the three main types of rocks out of Starbursts. Please follow
the directions carefully and let the teacher know if you have any questions.
1. WASH YOUR HANDS WITH SOAP AND WATER, NOT HAND SANITIZER!!!
2. Receive 3 Starbursts with three different colors from your teacher and a paper towel.
3. Lay the paper towel out on your desk.
4. Open the Starbursts and place them on the paper towel.
5. Stack the three Starbursts and slightly squeeze them together.
6. Pick up the Starbursts and hold it in your hand to get warm.
7. Slowly start gently squeezing the Starbursts and then roll it into a ball.
8. Pick up your Starbursts ball and put it into your mouth.
9. Chew but do no swallow your Starbursts ball for 2 minutes.
10. At the end of 2 minutes, open your mouth to show the other members of your group
what your Starbursts looks like.
11. Clean up all mess and trash and wash hands with soap and water.
12. Answer the observation questions on your centers sheet.
