in1913inavillagenearmadras.Duringtheyear1933to1935wheniwasa
collegestudentstudinginB.A.classvisitingTumkur(inmysorestatethen)where
myfatherwasworkingintherailway,ihadagoodfortunetocomeinclose
contectwithaneldergentlemanbynamesri.BhaskaraSastriar(Apious,retired
schoolteacher).hegavemeaglimpseofsatyachariam.Healsostressedthe
importanceoftheconstellationinpridictions,andsomebasicconceptofstellar
astrology.
Asmyfatherwasinrailwayserviceiwasalsoforcedtoenterthesame
service.ijointtheservicein1936atbangalorecity(M.S.M.Rlys)Late
sri.R.GopalakrishnaRowwasemployedasasignalleratBangalorecity,adjacent
tomyoffice.Duetoourcommanintrestinthesubjectofastrologywefrequently
metanddiscussuonsensuedonverioussustemofastrology.

telegraphistatmadrascentralstationandnhehadfortuneandgoodluckof
meetinglatesri.Srinivasarao(whosesonwasanadvocate,atmadras.)who
introducedhimtothestellarastrologyandtaughthimtheartofinter[retation
ofsometamilversesandproverbsrelatingtoastrology.
SriR.GopalakrishanaRow(PopularlyknowasR.G.)expressedhisintentionof
publishingabookonthestellarsystemofastrologyinenglishandputthe
ideasandprinciplesintamilandiwasaskedtorendertheminenglishafter
discussions.thusmatterdevlopedintoabookfrompublication.

lifeandhadowndifficultiesinthefamilytoo.
Sri.R.G.gotintouchwithmeasheknewthatihadadesirtostayatmynative
placeandpracticelaw.herequestedmetogivehimpartofthemanuscriptsof
partIIIwhichwerewithme,whichididreadly.Afterhandingoverthepapero
learntthatsubsequenteditionsofpart1and2havebeenpublishedinhisname
evenwithoutexpressinganygreatfulnessorgratitudetomeeveninthepeface
ifthebook.Iwasshokedandpertubedwhenithoughtofthetimeandlabour
spent
ingettingupthebooksanditspublication.possiblytheworldissuch.
Dejkectionsetinmeandiwasnotpayinghimvisitsunlessiwascalledforhim
tobridgethediffencesinhisfamilyinwhichididnotsucceedcompletly.He
wascomtemplatingtopublishsubsequentrevisededitionofthepublishedbooks
forwhichididnotcooprateandlaterslowlyandgraduallyiceasedtovisit
himanddiscussaboutthesubject,Hepassedawayatmadrasabout35years
ago.
Inthepublishedbook(part1to3)therewereshortcomingandmistakes.thechart
givenatrenotcompleteandthepredictionsarrivedatonthedecisionofa
singalpointalone,whichisnotproper.Everyaspecthastobeviewedand
assesses
fromvariousangles.Afterseveralyears,closefriendsandmybrotherpersuded
me
togiveouttotheastrologicalworldtheknowldgeacquiredbymeinthefield
ofstellertheory.myselfandanadvocatefriendofminevisitedseveralnadi
centreofsouthsomeyearsago.Impressionthatigainedwasthatoldpuranas
