Pedro is a generous horse and friendly

to others. He is fond of collecting food. While

Juan is a selfish and greedy carabao.
It is a tradition to their region in Ilocos to
give foods to the neighbors and townsman
who have nothing to eat. Pedro is one who
gives food to his neighbors.

One day, in the barn where the animals

meet, Pedro noticed one of his friend Jer, a
mouse. Jer is lonely and he keeps on
caressing his stomach.

Huhuhuhuhuhuhu! Jer cried.

Jer, why are you crying? ask Pedro.
I have nothing to eat at lunchtime, I
have consumed all of my food and I dont
have money to buy food. Jer said.
Stop crying Jer, said Pedro.

You know Jer, just tell me if you have

any problem especially when you dont have
any food to eat.
Im willing to help you, said Pedro.
Thank you my friend. Jer said.
Its good I found you. Said Pedro.
Im glad you found me my friend. Said
Jer.
Come on! Jer. Lets go to my place to
have lunch. Im hungry too. said Pedro.
Alright! said Jer.

In a distance, without knowing it, Juan is

quietly listening to their conversation. Juan
have plans to have more food in any way.
Juan is really very selfish that he will take any
step to make his plans come true.
I will beg food from Pedro and tell him
that I have nothing to eat. Im sure Pedro will
give me food. Jer said to himself.

Meanwhile, at Pedros stable. There are

lots and different kinds of food. Pedro offered
Jer a cheese. Jer is wondering why Pedro
have cheese.
Pedro, why do you have cheese? Do
you eat cheese? Jer asked Pedro.
You know Jer, Im fond of collecting
different kinds of food. Said Pedro.
Is that so? said Jer.
Its good you still have cheese. Its my
favorite. Said Jer.
Youre lucky my friend. Said Pedro.

Pedro and Jer are laughing with their

jokes and stories while eating lunch.

Jer is already full, same with Pedro.

you have any problem. Said Pedro.

Jer bid goodbye. He went away with full

stomach and happy on his way home while
Pedro is busy fixing the dishes.

From a distance, Juan went out from his

shelter waiting for Pedro to come out from his
stable to carry out his plans against Pedro.
Pedro came out and Juan immediately went to
Pedros place. Juan will pretend to beg from
Pedro.
Pedro, Im hungry, can you give me
some food to eat? ask Juan.
Sure Juan, I will give you food. Said
Pedro without hesitation.

Pedro give Juan food to eat. Juan

immediately left out. He also went to the other
animals in the farm to beg for food.
Because they really pity Juan, they give
him food to eat.

Without their knowledge, Juan sell the

food they gave to him instead of sharing it to
those who have nothing to eat. The hoax
made by Juan have immediately known by
Pedro and the other animals. Pedro arrange
a meeting with the other animals to stop Juan
from his wrong doings. Pedro became the
leader of the group to convince Juan to stop
his wrong doings.
Lets find a way to stop Juan from
selling food to his place. Pedro said.

The group immediately went in front of

Juans shelter to stop him from selling food to
others. The foods that he beg from his
neighboring animals.

Juan, stop selling foods! The foods that

you beg from us! The group shouted.
Juan is surprise from what he heard in
front of his house.

foods that they gave to him. They left nothing
to Juan because they want him to learn his

Juan repent from what he has done. He
admitted that he has done wrong and that he
abused his neighbors and friends as well.
Then, Pedro went back to Juans house
and advised him.
Juan, if you want to give or sell food,
dont ask from others.
Earn by yourself and save. Said
Pedro.
Juan apologized for what he has done.
Im sorry Pedro for what I have done. I
will follow your advice. Juan said.
Promised me Juan that you will not do
it again. Said Pedro.
Yes Pedro, I promised. Said Juan.

From thereon, Juan have learned how

to save food. He doesnt sell food anymore.
Instead, he helped Pedro in giving food to
their neighbors and townsman. Pedro and
Juan became friends forever. The other
animals became friends with Juan too.
