NEGATIVE SIDE OF SOCIAL GAMES

One web page reports that about 118.5 million people play social games at
least once per week - a 71-percent increase over last year. Not only that,
but at least 81 million folks play these types of games like FarmVille, Candy
Crush Saga at least once a day.
. Kids start to use gaming when they're bored, when they're standing
online, when they're frustrated .The problem with this is that they don't
learn how to calm themselves or entertain themselves in a quiet way.

Gaming becomes a problem if it interferes with other aspects of children's

lives, including their grades, social activity and even their sleep. Most of us
are alarmed at the sight of a child passively staring at a screen or playing
simple or needlessly violent video games;

In 2012, psychologist Dr Aric Sigman advised that children under the age
of three should not be exposed to any form of screen entertainment.
However, Children aged 3 to 5 who are exposed to technology more than
four hours a day - including use of handheld devices like cell phones,
tablets, and electronic games - could develop serious behavioral problems
and even child developmental delays

Study has shown that excessive gaming can crowd out physical activity.
Children who play mobile games tend to be more sedentary, which may
lead to weight gain and high blood pressure.
too much gaming may also inhibit proper social interactions. Shy
or introverted people may retreat to games for friendship and online
chatting. Though such online gaming allows introverts to make friends and

feel connected it can also prevent these individuals from learning valuable
in-person social skills,

Violent games may interrupt sleep when kids finally do drift off. Violent
social games such as Mafia Wars, Sniper, can cause child aggression.

WHY SOCIAL GAMES SHOULD BE BANNED

Delayed Development
Technology use restricts movement, which can result in delayed
development. One in three children now enter school developmentally
delayed, negatively impacting literacy and academic achievement
Epidemic Obesity
Children who are allowed a device in their bedrooms have 30% increased
incidence of obesity
Sleep Deprivation
60% of parents do not supervise their childs technology usage, and 75% of
children are allowed technology in their bedrooms (Kaiser Foundation
2010). 75% of children aged 9 and 10 years are going to bed with
technology in their hands leaving them to watch bright screen until they fall
asleep.

Addictions
One in 11 children aged 8-18 years are addicted to technology (Gentile
2009).
Radiation emission
In May of 2011, the World Health Organization classified cell phones (and
other wireless devices) as a category 2B risk (possible carcinogen) due to
radiation emission
