Transporting(orpromoting)objectsintheSAPBusinessObjectsBI4environmentisstillabitweirdforthose(likeme)
originallycomingfromtheSAPBWworld.TheLifecycleManager(LCM)webappsomehowdoesntfeelasrobustasthe
TransportManagementSysteminSAP,butintheenditdoesthesamethingofcourse.
ThisweekacolleagueranintosomeerrorsafterpromotinghisnewWebIntelligenceandCrystalReportsfromourBI4
developmentenvironmenttotheproductionenvironment.HisreportswerecreatedonSAPBWBExquerydatasources.
Update:WefinallyfiguredouthowtoworkwithOverrideSettingsforOLAPConnectionstosolvethisissue.Checkthe
blogposthere.
FirstletshavealookattheWebIntelligencereport.AfterthepromotionhewasabletoopentheWebIntelligencereport,but
whenrefreshingthedatathefollowingerrorsappeared:
Errorswhentryingtorefreshthecurrentreport.
Theuniversegenerationusingtheresourceidhasfailed.(WIS00000)

ThesolutiontothisissueisquiteeasybutyoujusthavetoknowthissomehowIguess:Youhavetomanuallyreconnect
eachSAPBWBExquerywiththeWebIntelligencereport.
Yes,thisjustfeelsodd.WeareusedtotheTransportManagementSystemtotakecareofthesethings.AlsoIthinkitsabit
strangetostandardhavingtoeditreportsinaproductionenvironment,justtomakethemwork.Ontheotherhand,ifyouonly
haveoneBI4environmentontopofmultipleSAPBWenvironments,itmightbeusefultohavetheabilitytochangethedata
sourcesofareporttoconnecttoadifferentsystem.
Anyway,tofixthisjustfollowthenexteasysteps:
1.OpenthereportandgotoDesignmode.GototheDataAccesstabandselecttheToolssubmenu.Hereyouseetheoption
ChangeSource.BythewaymakesurethatyouarerunningtheRichInternetApplication(JAVA)versionsincetheWeb
versiondoesntshowthisoption!YoucancheckandchangethisintheBILaunchpadpreferencesforWebIntelligencemenu
(topright).

WhenopeningtheCrystalReportsreportinBILaunchpadafterpromotionsomethingsimilarhappens:
Theviewercouldnotprocessanevent.Thedatasourceisinvalid.
InvalidCMSQuery.CheckiftheconnectionexistsintheCMS.

1.OpenCrystalReportsforEnterprise,connecttoBI4environmentandopenthereport.Onopeningapopupwillbe
showntellingyouthatthedatasourceusedinthisreportcannolongerbefoundontheserver.Clickthelink.

2.Inthewizardscreenyoullseetheolddatasourceontheleft.Ontherightyouhavetoselectanewtargetdatasource.
FirstselectaconnectionandbrowsetoyourBExquery.

3.Afterselectionthewizardwilltrytomapallfields.YoucanmanuallymapfieldswiththeMapbutton.

seenandselected,butthereisnodataunderthequery.Therearenofieldsavailabletowhichtomaptheoldfields.Any

Ihavebeenpassedacrystalreportwhichprobablyhasntbeenusedforawhile.Andtheuniversehashadsomechanges
alongtheway.Andnowwhenthereportisranitisthrowinganerror(Errorcode:0[CRWEB00000119]
WhenIopenthecrystalreportonthebuilderitpresentsmewithamappingscreenshowingtheitemsthatitcannotfind.
ButtheproblemistheMapbuttonisgreyedout.AndwhenIclosethewindowtheobjectsonthedesignpaneltotally
getsremoved(therebyablanklayoutremains).Haveyouencounteredsomethingsimilarandwhatistheworkaround?
