The origin of Photography

Niepce then joined hands with a younger man, Daguerre who had devised an
improved camera. After ten more years of research, the daguerreotype , using
positive exposures was unveiled publicly in 1839
-Daguerre was a skilled painter, and he turned to the camera to heighten the
illusion of his huge paintings.

-Fox Talbot worked further on this invention to develop a paper negative

form from which positives could be made.
For Talbot photography was a substitute for drawing.
