INVITATION FOR TENDERS

1. The United Republic of Tanzania has received a grant from the Arab Bank for
Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), towards the cost of the Technical
Assistance to Support the School of Kiswahili and Foreign Languages of the State
University of Zanzibar and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit for
payments under the contract for the Proposed Renovation and Upgrading Kiswahili
Learning Facilities for the State University of Zanzibar

SUZA/BADEA/CW-1/2016/2017 and NCB NO: SUZA/BADEA/G/1/2016/2017
2. The State University of Zanzibar now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified
contractor for the Proposed Renovation and Upgrading Kiswahili Learning
Facilities for SUZA, the Bids comprise of:WORKS

Renovation of Seven Classrooms and Language Lab of Kiswahili for Foreigners


Renovation of Lecture Hall at Nkrumah Campus
Renovation of Global Centre for Kiswahili Studies and Advancement

GOODS
i. Supply of ICT equipment.
3. Bidding will be conducted through the National Competitive Bidding (NCB)
procedures specified in the BADEA Banks Guidelines:

5. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested
bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon
payment of a non refundable fee of Tanzanian Shillings One Hundred Thousands
only (TZS. 100,000/=). Payment should be made through the Peoples Bank of
Zanzibar. Account Name: The State University of Zanzibar Account No:

6. All tenders must be accompanied by a Tender Security in an acceptable form in amount
of 2% of the tender price in local currency or freely convertible currencies in case of
foreign Tenders.

7. All Bids in one original plus two copies, properly filled in, and enclosed in plain
envelopes marked (Proposed Renovation and Upgrading Kiswahili Learning Facilities
for SUZA) must be delivered to the address below:Secretary of the Tender Board

The deadline for submission of Bids is on or before 2nd December, 2016 at 10:00 hours.
Bids will be opened promptly thereafter in public and in the presence of bidders
representatives who choose to attend in the opening at the Conference Room
Administration Block, Tunguu Campus, the State University of Zanzibar.
8. Late Tenders, portion of quotations, electronic quotations, quotations not received,
quotations not opened at the quotation opening ceremony shall not be accepted for
evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
