See color diagrams on the back page for reference.

Refer to the quilt image for color placement

quidance as needed.

1. Sew a fabric F strip to the long edge of a fabric W

strip to make a strip set. Crosscut the strip set into 15

segments, 2 1/2 wide. (Fig. 1)

2. Repeat step 1, sewing each of the following strips

to a fabric W strip to make one strip set: G, H, L, V, X,

DD, GG, HH, KK, LL, and MM. Crosscut each strip
set into 15 segments, 2 1/2 wide.

3. Sew a fabric F segment to a fabric KK segment

to make a four-patch unit as shown. Make a total of

15 units. (Fig. 2)

4. Repeat step 3, to make 15 four-patch units of

each fabric combination as shown. (Fig. 3)

5. Sew fabric W triangles to adjacent sides of a

fabric Y square to make a triangular unit. Then sew a

fabric A triangle to the long side of the unit to make
a square unit. The unit should measure 4 1/2 x 4 1/2.
Make a total of 15 units. (Fig. 4)

8. Lay out the blocks in six rows of five blocks

each, alternating and rotating the blocks in each

row and from row to row as shown in the quilt layout
diagram. (Note that rows 1, 3, and 5 start with
Block Two. Rows 2, 4, and 6 start with Block One.)

9. Join the blocks into rows and then join the rows
to complete the quilt-top center.

10. Sew the fabric R 72 1/2-long strips to opposite

sides of the quilt-top center. Then sew the fabric

R 64 1/2-long strips to the top and bottom of the
quilt top.

11. Layer the quilt top with batting and backing;

baste. Quilt as desired. Using the fabric CC

2 1/4-wide binding strips, bind the edges to finish.

6. Repeat step 5, to make 15 units of each fabric

combination as shown in the block diagrams.

7. Lay out three four-patch units and six units from

steps 5 and 6 in three rows as shown in the block
diagrams. Join the units into rows and then join
the rows. Make 15 blocks each of Block One and
Block Two. (Fig. 5)
