Not ignorance but ignorance of ignorance is true ignorance

The fact that not ignorance but ignorance of ignorance is true ignorance
encompasses the justification of existence of behaviours which are antagonist to
all facets of society and state. Ignorance prevails when intellectual, social and
moral maturity ceases to exist in society. Not being able to differentiate and
condemn those behaviours which come in the sphere of ignorance lags behind
the states in the world. It not only affects people on individual level but also
poses its long lasting impacts on national level. Social setup with such ignorance
emerges as a harbour of inhumane practices like karokari, wani, human
trafficking and inculcates intolerance towards other sects, faiths, races etc.
Countries with such framework based on true ignorance attracts anti state
factors to come into play and legalise their efforts leading to collapse of whole
system. Thus, adoption of appropriate measures to overcome appalling
outcomes of true ignorance is dire need of time. Civil society should impart its
endeavours to harvest the sense of maturity in society. Media should come with
strategies which empower the society with moral, ethical, intellectual maturity to
counter the effects of true ignorance.
Being ignorant from the phenomenon of true ignorance is the reason which
hinders the way of societies to be known as civilized ones. Unable to differentiate
among behaviours which are against the norms of society doesnt prove the lack
of education. Rather, it favours the notion that it lacks social and moral
consciousness at every level. Unintentional acknowledgment of behaviours which
deem to be morally, ethically and socially unacceptable laid the foundation of
true ignorance. Dogma of true ignorance has its repercussions which are
creating disruptions in social framework. Pakistani society couldnt get rid of such
ignorance in real sense. In Pakistan, people are unable to distinguish between
the behaviours which are undesirable in a civilized setup. For example in a
civilized society, it is not ideal to force daughters not to marry just because the
family have to lose a part of land. The prevalence of such behaviour proves the
level of moral, social and intellectual immaturity at every level in Pakistani
society.
Lack of social, moral and intellectual maturity paves the way for acceptance
of unwanted behaviours in society. This kind of acceptance lags behind the
nations in the world. Socially, morally and intellectually immature nations never
stand out among others in the race of humanity. Although, Pakistan is the
staunch supporter of humanity but still acceptance of customs like karokari,
wani, gender discrimination, physical and mental abuse etc in society doubts her
2

stance about humanity. The practice of inhumane behaviours not only affects the
lives of people on individual level but on national level as well.
True ignorance is the cause which is producing multiple effects in Pakistani
society. It is affecting lives of people on both individual and national levels in
Pakistan. On individual level, it is leading to the loss of moral obligation. Thus, it
is favouring the emergence of self-centred approach in society. Societies with
such kind of people experience the phenomenon of social disintegration which
creates ideal situation for anit societal factors, i.e feudal or tribal lords, to take
over the social control. Hence, it is sowing the seeds of inhumane customs like
karokari, wani, honour killing, watta satta, gender discrimination, ban on female
voting right etc in Pakistani society. It is placing its noxious impact on national
level as well. An attitude of negligence from political duties toward state, tax
evasion, human trafficking, emergence of spirits of ethnicity, racism,
sectarianism, extremism etc are some aspects of this which are jeopardizing
national solidarity.
Those societies which are unable to condemn the attitudes proven to be
against their norms instigate loss of moral obligation in their citizens. Moral
obligation acts as a self check which made people to realize their responsibilities
toward society and state. Unfortunately, in Pakistani society, such ignorance is
incorporating its deteriorating impact in the lives of citizens. Loss of moral
obligation has halted the process of internalization of social responsibility among
individuals. Hence it has freed them from duties which they owe to society and
state. For instance, if a person witnesses a car accident, he refuses to help just
because he doesnt want to indulge in such kind of activity which at the end paid
him nothing. This kind of behaviour has been diminishing the selflessness among
the members of Pakistani society.
Emergence of individualistic approach is key result of prevalence of true
ignorance in Pakistan. Down fall is destined to those societies which permit its
members to take self centred approach with them in each and every matter of
life. They care about their selves only. Instead for collective benefit, they give
priority to individual interest. Self centred approach deprives the social setup
from sense of humanity. It affects every aspect of life of an individual. Food
hoarding at the time of flood or curfew etc is an example of prevalence of such
attitude. Moreover, in Pakistan, People with egocentric approach are letting
voracious rituals to flourish in true sense. For instance, despite all efforts,
Pakistani society is comprised of abound people with mindset which favours the
custom of dowry to be practised. This kind of ignorance is resulting in many girls
to remain unmarried due to unavailability of dower. Hence, unbalancing the
Pakistani societal pattern and creating a chaos which is debilitating the social
fabric.
Social disintegration is an outcome of existence of phenomenon of true
ignorance in Pakistani society. A pivotal force which fabricates robust social
system is solidarity among individuals. It ushers them to collective binding
resulting in cohesive system. Such system not only facilitates the people with
3

their basic needs like food, shelter, justice, law and order equally, it also
safeguards them from the emergence of factors which manipulate the people
according to their vested interests. True ignorance lets the practices of injustice
to prevail in every aspect of life thus subjecting the people to be a part of frail
social setup. This setup looses the control over providence of equal opportunities
to all without the discrimination of cast and creed. Furthermore, it deprives the
people from their basic rights and arouses feelings of uncertainty toward society.
Thus, it results in lessened social solidarity among them making the society
vulnerable to be controlled by a group of people to come with a systems based
on their vested interests. In Pakistani society, lack of justice is producing
irregularities in each and every aspect of life of an individual. Prevalence of
corruption, deviation from practices of considering merit etc creating uncertainty
toward system and lessening the force of solidarity among individuals. This is
laying the foundation for anti societal factors like feudal or tribal lords etc to
control the social setup with their obsolete mindset.
Obsolete mindset of different stakeholders of social setup are in a position to
favour the savage customs and tradition in Pakistan. They are letting such
customs to prosper in true manner thus harbouring the phenomenon of true
ignorance. Customary adherence to traditions like karokari, wani, watta satta etc
from generation to generation is a consequence of moral, ehical, social
ignorance. in some area of Pakistan, Freedom of women is still considered as a
curse for the family norms. To some female education is an act of challenging
ancestors values and has to be reprehensible. All these attitudes are furnishing
appropriate environment to such behaviours to prosper and intensify in their
magnitude day by day. These behaviours are taking different shapes and
inculcating in society with alternate forms. Illegal land holding, exploitation of
manpower, acid throwing, ban on women vote etc are various forms which are
posing a detrimental effect on pakistani social framework.
Attitude of negligence in matters related to political jurisdiction is a
consequence of assimilation of true ignorance in the political sphere of Pakistani
society. This kind of ignorant behaviour is producing repercussions at national
level. Political fraternity is responsible for formulation and implementation of
policies and legislation for collective betterment. It should put forward those
legislation which proven effective for society. The process of policy formulation
requires proper analytical approach which weighs each and every aspect
according to benefit and risk ratio. Those policies which promise greater benefit
for the masses should be the priority of officials. Lack of consensus among
political groups is hindering the way for the formulation of legislation which is
dire need of time in Pakistan. Similarly, implementation of policies is requisite for
an ideal setup. Various bills have been passed on child labour, protection of
women rights, freedom of expression, education for all, illegality of obsolete
customs etc but none of them have not been found to be implemented in letter
and spirit. Moreover, many projects have been initiated for fulfilling vested
interests rather than contemplating benefit of masses. Such practices at official
level proven detrimental to the whole set up. Thus, this is providing an excuse to
those who breach the state laws because of their individualistic approach.
4

In Pakistani society, Practices conforming to true ignorance are often leading

inculcation of such means which are inhumane in nature. No civilized society
allows the adoption of acts like human trafficking, child labour, smuggling, forced
beggary etc. These acts are the by product of societal pressure. The people who
are letting this happen portraying the true example of those who have lost their
sense of moral obligation because of unintentional abiding by the phenomenon
of true ignorance.
Existence of practices like tax evasion, corruption, etc is ramifications of
behaviour which is the product of phenomenon of true ignorance in Pakistani
society. Every individual owes some duties toward state which ought to be
carried out. Behaviours which promote such practices have become a part of
social set up deterring those who perform their duties toward state religiously.
Tax evasion is casting its deteriorating affect on economy of country. A big part of
Countrys finances is supposed to be spend on providing basic necessities to
common man which is to most extent depend on collection of revenues in the
form of taxes. Tax evasion is collapsing the whole set up thus further creating a
vicious cycle of unavailability of basic necessities at national level.
Acceptance of Corrupt means in Pakistani society is an outcome of being
ignorant, either deliberately or not, from the phenomenon of moral values which
bound everyone not to let any immoral act to be adopted which favours the
notion of true ignorance. Corruption in any form i.e cronyism, favouritism,
extortion etc is not appreciated in civilized societies. It is one way or the other
antagonist to merit system in every aspect of life. Those who favour corruption in
every walk of life are making the social fabric weak enough to be withered away
with a slightest blow of antisocial powers.
In Pakistan, Behaviours resulting in prevalence of true ignorance are letting
the concepts of sectarianism and extremism to prosper through and through.
Anti social factors upon availability of scenario suitable to implement their
obnoxious motives have been playing their role and further deteriorating the
circumstances. Incidents like what happened during Moharrum in Rawalpindi or
shia killings etc are the efforts on the behalf of the such factors who want to
derail the system. These antisocial factors cum opportunists find their way to
those who are affectees of incidents to instigate them against the whole setup.
This kind of endeavours is flourishing the extremist and fanatic approach among
some cadres of society. Mobilizing their all resources for brain washing of
innocent minds resulting in suicide bombing and mass killings is their tactical
approach to frail the system. Such episodes are creating panic and chaos in
society leading to the creation of conflict and frustration within individuals.
Unable to differentiate among behaviours which are a result of true ignorance
is proven detrimental to interfaith harmony in Pakistan. Behaviours of so called
Mullahs who portray themselves as true heirs of Islam and come with their own
interpretation of Islamic philosophy is producing a wave of uncertainty among
followers of other religion. Such uncertainty is becoming a basis of sense of
insecurity among minorities. Islam is the religion which teaches its believers to
5

deal each and every matter with tolerance and dont be among those who create
catastrophe or do atrocities upon others. It bestows freedom to every believers
of other code of life. Existence of true ignorance in this form is disarraying the
social integration and halting the social solidarity thus putting national interest at
stake.
In Pakistan, Attitudes based on such mindset which promote anti nationalism
are consequence of true ignorance. Demonstrations of acts like strikes, street
violence, destruction of public and private property, mass agitation etc are
creatings poor law and order situation which challenges the writ of the state.
Once writ of state put into question it opens the door to anti state groups to
implement their destructive thinking in order to prove the state among failed
states. Unknown abductions, target killings, bhatta khori, kidnappings for ransom
are producing a further havoc to situation. It is also paving the way for other
factors to raise their own flag and announce a state within state which is a
violation of law of state as well as detrimental to ideology of a country thus
overall stigmatizing the repute and credibility of Pakistan in the whole world.
Notwithstanding, the whole scenario seems to be absurd but it is not
impossible to turn the table. Various strategies and timely measures can be
opted to overcome the destructive impacts of true ignorance which have been
produced on individual as well as on national level.
Internalization of self check approach is key solution for overcoming all
repercussions occurring due to true ignorance on individual level. It can be
internalize through applying informal ways of social control along with proper
education. Once a sense of self check restored it would form society based on
responsible citizens well equipped with moral obligation towards each other and
state. It would put an end to self centred approach and create a social setup
deep rooted with social integration.
Education system capable of embedding moral, ethical and social values in
individuals should be formulated to overcome the effects of true ignorance in
Pakistani society. Such system would produce citizens who condemn the practice
of out dated customs in society as well as be a source of social change to ensure
eradication of all attitudes and behaviours contradictory to civilized social
system.
Civil society should impart its role in spotting the culprits who are destroying
the image of country by carrying out illegal practices. It should initiate an
awareness program to discourage such behaviours which favours the
assimilation of culture of tax evasion, corruption etc. There should be formation
of civil task force which call for aid to deter the inhumane practices of child
labour, human trafficking, smuggling etc and help out the official authorities to
curb mafias controlling them.
Nevertheless, media is playing tremendous role as a watch dog for all
behaviours which are trademark of true ignorance in Pakistani society. It can also
come up with strategies based on creating awareness about citizens
6

responsibilities to end the acts like street violence, setting buses on fire,
destruction of properties etc. It can make them realize not to become a puppet in
the hands of anti state actors. It can inculcate the sense of nationalism to
citizens and enable them to protect the ideology of Pakistan so that they can
impart their better role in raising the bar of Pakistan in the whole world.
In nutshell, the notion not ignorance but ignorance of ignorance is true
ignorance consists of philosophy upon which basis of all the anti societal
behaviours are lying. The criterion which declares a nation civilized one has its
foundation on social and moral consciousness. The societies which are deficient
in such consciousness represent a practical example of true ignorance. Pakistani
society presents a crystal clear picture of true ignorance which is dismantling the
whole set up and entangling individual as well as collective lives of people with
its detrimental ramifications. It is venting the champions of outdated customs
and traditions to practice them. Prevalence of true ignorance is affecting all the
spheres equally and creating a catastrophe in society by allowing anti social and
anti state actors to come into play and fulfil their agenda. It is putting national
repute and sovereignty at stake. It is a known fact that there is absolutely
nothing which can be redeemed. So, timely measures can be taken to get
Pakistani society rid from the obnoxious repercussions of true ignorance.
Internalization of self-check approach, education system capable of embedding
moral, ethical and social values in individuals, an aware civil society and media
as a watchdog are some remedial steps which can be taken to eradicate the
curse of true ignorance from Pakistani society so that it can stand out in the
world.
