Ighten Leigh 7-A-side rules

1. A maximum of 10 players is allowed to register for each team. All teams MUST be County registered.
2. The games will be started with a kick off, NOT a dropped ball.
3. Back passes to the goalkeeper are allowed, however, a third consecutive pass back without the ball being
touched by an opposing player will result in a free kick to the opposing team.
4. The goalkeeper (under 11s upwards) must throw the ball out and must not intentionally kick the ball out of
his hands or for goalkicks. A free kick will be awarded for each offence, to the opposing team.
5. All free kicks will be direct. Throw ins will be over arm and corners kicked.
6. The ball is allowed above head height.
7. There are NO offside rules
8. Each game shall be 10 minutes one way all age groups.
9. 3 points shall be awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a defeat.
10. A maximum of 3 substitutions can be made during each game. No substituted player is allowed back on
the pitch during the game in which he was substituted.
11. Any player sent from the field of play, or any player who has received two cautions during the competition
shall automatically be ineligible to play in the rest of the competition.
12. Each team will be responsible for providing a match ball. (Please ensure that each ball is clearly marked
with the Club name)
13. Any team playing overage players will be immediately disqualified. ALL MANAGERS MUST HAVE
COPIES OF BIRTH CERTIFICATES TO HAND FOR REFERENCE. BIRTH CERTIFICATES WILL BE
CHECKED AT REGISTRATION ON THE DAY OF COMPETITION.
14. No player may play for more than 1 team in the tournament. If this rule is broken, BOTH teams will be
DISQUALIFIED.
15. The top 4 teams from each group will qualify for the next stage. In the event of teams having the same
number of points, the team scoring the most goals will go through. If the number of goals scored is the
same, then goal difference will be taken into account. If goal difference is the same, then the following rules
for penalties apply.
Penalty rules.
5 players will be nominated to take penalties in turn. One nominated player MUST be the goalkeeper. If this
does not produce a result, then sudden death penalties will apply, continuing with the players on the pitch at
the end of normal time.

16. In the event of semi-finals or final ending in a draw, the Golden Goal rule will be applied. If, after 2 minutes
each way extra time, a winner has not emerged, 5 of the 7 players who FINISHED the match will take
penalties. The penalty rules are those as above.
17. The contact for interpretation of the rules is the Ighten Leigh J.F.C. Committee. Any alterations to these
rules, if necessary, are subject to the approval of the L.F.A. and will be handed out prior to the Tournament.
18. The organiser of the tournament will make the decisions on any matters arising. Any appeal should be
made immediately during the tournament to the Ighten Leigh J.F.C. Committee

It is the sole responsibility of managers, to ensure that their players are fully aware of the
above rules.
All teams MUST bring a match ball.

MANAGERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BEHAVIOUR OF THEIR TEAM AND IT'S SUPPORTERS.

ALCOHOL IS NOT PERMITTED.

BARBEQUES ARE NOT PERMITTED.

ANY TEAM/S BREAKING THESE RULES WILL IMMEDIATELY BE ASKED TO LEAVE AND
WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RE-ENTER IN FUTURE TOURNAMENTS
Ighten Leigh J.F.C. will accept no responsibility for either loss or damage of
property or any injury sustained during the course of the tournament.
