EngineeringProject:
Anengineeringprojectisaprojectthatseekstosolveaproblem.Thestudentmustdefine
theparticularproblemtobesolved,formatrequirementsandconstraintsfortheproject,
designthesolutionfortheproblemthatmeetstherequirementsandconstraints,andtestthe
solutiontoseeifitactuallysolvestheoriginallydefinedproblem.Finally,thestudentmust
communicateallresultsonadisplayboard.

ScienceProject:

Ascienceprojectisaprojectthatseekstoansweraquestionabouthowthenaturalworld
works,thismeansanythingthatcanbeexperiencedinreallife(notunicornsanddragons).
Studentmustposethequestion,formatatestablehypothesis,createanexperimenttotest
thehypothesis,andexplainthedatathatresultsfromthetesting.Finallythestudentsmust

aredealingwithanimalsormicroorganisms,youwillneedpriorpermissionfromyourscience
teacher.Rememberthatitisagainstschoolrules(andthelaw)tointentionallyhurtananimal
duringanexperiment.
Lifesciencealsoincludesstudyingbehaviors,soitsaperfectcategorytotrytastetests,
opinionsurveys,animalbehaviortraining.

PhysicalScience(physicsandchemistry):
Thiscategoryincludestopicsaboutmatterandstructure,aswellaselectricity,magnetism,
sound,lightoranythingelsethatyoumightquestion,Howdoesitworkandwhathappens

ThiscategorycoversallsortsoftopicsthatdealwiththeEarthorobjectsinspace.This

Earth,likerocks,fossils,volcanoes,etc..),andthestudyofallthatisinspace,includingthe
stars,oursunandourplanets.Unfortunatelythistopicisalsowheremostmanystudents
confuseamodelordisplayprojectwithanexperimentaltypeofproject.

Engineering,andRobotics:
Engineeringisconcernedwiththedesign,building,anduseofengines,machines,and
structures.Ifyouliketosolveproblemsthroughdesign,youmaywanttoworkonan
engineeringproject.
Roboticsisatypeofengineeringthatinvolvesthedesign,construction,andoperationofa
robot.
