Activity 1
(Input)

Methodology
Ask: Have you eaten chiffon cake with
your siblings or friends? If so, how would
you divide the chiffon cake so that each
of you received an equal amount?
Say: Responds according to each sliced.
The teacher will enter the chiffon cake as
the perfect instrument needed to teach
the concept of the fraction.
Students will never understand how to
add or subtract a fraction until they truly
understand the concept of a fraction.
Use fractions that every student
understands. For example, take the
fraction:
Take the time to explain that this fraction
represents a chiffon cake that has been
cut into two pieces, but you only have
one of the pieces. The numerator of the
fraction is the top number and the

denominator of the fraction is the bottom
number. Always keep in mind that using
the best methods of how to teach
fractions involves moving very slowly,
giving multiple examples involving
fractions until every student is
comfortable. Use familiar examples
involving fractions such as 1/4, 1/3, and
3/4 to reinforce the concept of what a
fraction is.

Activity 2
(Guess and
Create the
Fraction)

Analysis

The teacher will show a divided piece of

chiffon cake and ask the students what is
the fraction of the perspective chiffon
cake. And the students will cut the paper
and guess the fractions of the chiffon
cake showed to them.
Say: The students will responds
according to their understanding.
Say: Explain the results of the activity.
(Call selected five pupils to present their
output and state what number of fraction
it is. And after that the teacher will ask
other pupils what number fraction is
there in the picture.)
