Students will listen to a google slide and be able to critically think about NATO and Warsaw and be able to
compare and contrast current events to events from the past, they will be checked for understanding using
Kahoot.

tool? (rubric, checklist, etc.)

Students will be able to understand the main points of the presentation and be able to discuss them with their
classmates. They will also do a short Kahoot before exiting class, to see where they stand after the lesson. Their
homework for the next day will require them to do some research on their own so that they can do their handout and
inform the rest of the class about their topic. Students will need to demonstrate that they did the proper research so
that their classmates are well informed.

In the beginning of class, a video will be playing with content about World War II and the following Cold War.
After the video, we will question the students about topics involving World War II that connect into our current
topic. When the new information has been passed on to the class, they will connect that information with some
current events.

personal understanding of the topic being taught.

questions during the more detailed portions of the

Teacher will be walking around the class insuring


that students are staying on track during the
discussion period. It is the teachers responsibility
to create a guide for students to follow and
implement. The guide will keep the students
focused on the main points of the lecture and
guide them in finding what they feel is the most
significant point of the lecture.

Students will get into groups to summarize the


presentation. Once they agree on the main
points they will have time to talk with the class
about what points they feel were the most
influential and why.

Break up the groups so that individual assignments can


be given for homework. Handout a specific guide for
each student to work on, which will be due the next
day. The handout will focus on one topic, place,
person, or event. Instructions will be given on whats
expected from each student.

Look over the handout the teacher passed out and


review it before leaving class. If any questions
come up in regards to requirements the students will
ask for clarification. They will be expected to gather
information on their topic and give a short oral
presentation the following day. Summarize, point
out key points, and draw a personal connection.
