First of all I d like to mention all the great effort of all KA1-1 parents have been making to
bring your children to our kindergarten. As we discussed, the rst month of a new level,
loaded of new routines always requieres perseverance on attending which makes their
adaptation smoothly. All the great results we've obtained this rst month is basically due to
your cooperation and commitment to the education of your children.
Secondly, as we agreed in our annual parents meeting, your collaboration on setting some
basic rules at home and giving to your children some responsibilities are helping them to be
more independent and responsible. The dedication of a tiny part of your time on this will
make you save a lot in the future, avoiding any posibilites or wrong behaviors.
Focusing on this month, we ve achieved all our objectives we set at the beginning of and
feel great to see how our students have reacted, specially our new ones. I invite you to
follow our detailed list of content we have treated this last month;
- phrases: we think phrases are to be used and incorporate into our classroom because we
believe thats the better way to acquire uency and start to understand how grammar
would work in the future, Listening to one aleatory sentence with have nothing to do with
our reality would waste our time and confuse our students. Instead of that, we learn
phrases that could be used everyday, either to follow routines and during any time they re
involved in any sort of activity. Useful sentences such as, excuse me , I need some help ,
lower your voice, please , have a good day

good job , pick it up , etc are sentences

that they already know their meaning but now are used by themselves (speaking instead
of just listening-understanding).
- alphabet: the learning of the alphabet is a priority for them, since the base of all
knowledge of the language. Its learning requieres what we teachers call drilling which is
explained as a repetition according to what is teaching. However, the repetition of the
same content almost daily might result boring if some variations, games, activities aren't
incorporated. Meanwhile we focused on the learning of the letter Pp-Qq (capital, lower
case, phonic and words related) our children have started to draw by themselves our
basic letters (early writing) with different worksheets according to their ages.

- early reading: I m so happy also proud of them to announce they already are able to read
short words (related to short -a-) by themselves. We initiated this new skills months ago
as a familiarization concept and progressively they ve acquired the abilities to related
phonics and make words (H-A-T, T-A-P, C-A-P, etc) for that, we followed our reading
guide more.startfall.com and the book related Zac and the hat . This rst week of
reading have been an absolute success!
- vocabulary: we have been trying to review our basic contents (colors, numbers, body
shapes, family, basic verb actions) for our new students but we were really into it, since
those are words we use almost everyday and we believe they acquire sooner or later. In
another hand, the expression Where are you from? I from (8 different countries) has been
taught with great results. We took Chinese national holidays and our Spanish lessons as a
chance to let our kids understand better the meaning of what this sentence is referring to.
- Halloween: last year was the introduction of what halloween means for our

baby

students and we re glad to see that they understood the concept of this western festivity
and vocabulary related. We have made steps forward to go a bit deeper and have really
enjoyed of all our activities that either teacher and IEC have prepared (crafts, games,
activities, costumes, cat walks, extra scholars games, parties).
- Spanish lessons: our Spanish course has started already! learning a new language and all
its advantages are a reality for our KA1-1 s students. our students are able to pronounce
properly our basic greetings and even make some short dramas with taught words
(roleplaying). Our rst lessons couldn t have started better!

- Clases de espaol: !Nuestro curso de espaol ha empezado!, el aprendizaje de un nuevo

idioma y todas sus ventajas son ya una realidad para nuestros alumnos de KA1-1.
Nuestros alumnos son capaces ya de pronunciar correctamente nuestros saludos bsicos
con normalidad e incluso ponerlo en escena mediante una pequea simulacin de
roleplaying . Su capacidad de adquirir nuevos conceptos es realmente increble, !el curso
no podia haber empezado mejor! )

Michael has achieved all our contents we proposed at the beginning of the month
successfully. As he has been doing month after month, his English abilities has increased
quite a lot and has acquired the ability to express by himself. He feels comfortable when
english is necessary to be spoken and is able to express (basically) who he does need, feel
and want. Nice job!

Sunny has made a great effort and did his best for achieving our golas this months
plenty of fun activities to do. Id like to highlight his attitude towards the language where he
feel comfortable to express whatever it s needed to be said. It great to hear Sunny speaking
english by himself without asking, because that means English already forms part of his
dilly life!

Vicky is one of our pst students, english speaking, in our KA1-1. Her english abilities
are over the average as we can see everyday during our english lessons. I ve noticed that
lately she has started to speak english by herself quite a lot so I ve gotten this chance to
start some advanced seeking just with her when we have some time together. Her uency is
improving and we will work on her pronunciation any time soon. Superb!

Chloe has turned on in a really great english student due to her skills towards the
language, For her it s relatively easy to use new words after some drilling , this fast
incorporation into her common life is making her level raising up faster than we expected.
Nice job!

same content almost daily might result boring if some variations, games, activities aren't
incorporated.

OCTOBER
I invite you to
follow our detailed list of content we have treated this last month;

Ray is progressing according to our plans and responding greatly to all our daily
checking points we provided them once a week. His vocabulary is rich as much as his
listening which are two of the pillars of any language to be learned.
I also, would like to say and express my satisfaction with his behavior during my english
and Spanish lessons and the whole time in general in our kindergarten He has improved
quite lot and we are sure he still can do it better. We are so proud of him!

Yophy was at the beginning quite shy and didn't really want say a word whenever
something was asked to her. Over this weeks of October, she still keep her personality but
hast started to enjoy our lessons, speak our language, participate in our games and activities
and having a lot of fun. For me, as her teacher, is a great satisfaction to see how fast is he
improving and makes me really happy to see that she is part of our KA1-1 family already.
Thanks for all your handwork, Yophy!!

EVA has experimented a really great progress last two months that might be caused for
many and different reasons. I truly believe that her improvement has been done because of
her great attitude towards our activities. What have caused this change of attitude? She
shows herself as she truly is, feel totally comfortable in our environment and understands
that making mistakes is just a part of life. We like to teacher our kids that making mistakes
and fail is something natural but not trying or doing nothing is not an option.

KAYA has vastly improved since the beginning until now. There is a special connection

SHIRLEY is helping other classmates to improve during our english lessons, her
way to think and to behave is a model to be followed by everyone. She does know when to
participate and how; that simple routine could sound easy but it hard to assimilate for some
of her classmates since it s an abstract concept that requires time and effort to be
understood.

JACKSON is making some great progress lately during our english and Spanish
lessons, he seems interested in our culture and fell curious about how the things are make
done in our western countries.
His language level is going according to our plans but we still think he could do it even
better. For that, we are preparing some new teaching methodologies that might help him
the next month. Hopefully we could give you some new good news in our next monthly

- early reading: I m so happy also proud of them to announce they already are able to read

guide more.startfall.com and the book related Zac and the hat .

I invite you to
follow our detailed list of content we have treated this last month;

JERRY has shown a great progress last month in either our Spanish and english
lessons. He seems specially interested any time is time to speak Spanish and also is already
trying to communicate with me not just during the rest of the day.
His english is almost at the same level that his classmates, since he joined us later than
others, and his behavior is a way better than two months ago. We all are so happy for
having him and help to develop his skills at the same time he enjoys his time with us!

RICK has been absent last month quite a lot, unfortunately, and that made his level to
be under his classmates. However, he's back to our routine and working hard on catching
his level back as soon as possible.
In the other hand, his behavior seems to be much better than after his period of abstention
and that laso is helping him to improve faster and better. Good to have you back!

ETHAN has nished another great month, being on of the best in our classroom. His
behavior is used as model for other children because of his calm, pacic and polite attitude.
He understood a while ago what its needed tone done and doing exactly what is required
and expected.
During our Spanish and english lessons, is also a model for his classmates (frequently
getting green cards) due to his level, active attitude, obedience of commands. As his
teacher, is a pleasure and gift having him and seeing his progress everyday.

TIMMY had a great fun with us last month due to we had the chance to enjoy a lot
of new activities, games and parties (Halloween). We gave our students all our best to make
them feel happy in our kindergarten and provide them good memories. However, he had
some troubles last months during our class time since he didn't seems to understand
correctly our class routines yet.
We arree that children must have fun and they do, a lot, but at the same time they have
responsibilities that need to be learned at this age. Otherwise, all his emotional cognitive,
social and academic progress would not raise correctly.
Following simple rules at home and school, will help him a lot to improve in all aspects and
have a complete experience. We all love him and want the best for him also we know he
can do it better.

RENE has turned out into one of our

children s leader ,she is followed, teachers how

to do our diary routines and always is the rst one to realize when something is doing
wrong. I considered her an independent student who likes to do whatever she likes more
than follows others.
Her speaking abilities are also increasing quickly because of her talkative personality both
English and Chinese. However, she is learning how to control herself when something
doesn't make it done in the way she prefers, and being able to listen more the opinion of
her peers. She respects her teachers opinions and suggestions properly though.

FIONA is now following some of our indications about how to behave in some
different areas which involves sharing, capacity of solving problems, make the right choice
and do not make the same mistake twice. All these characteristics are totally common in all
kids at this age, so there isn't anything to worry about however our job to provide her all
the indication we consider needs ti be done and followed.
She is an excellent students with huge qualities for the memorization and association,
Focusing on english skills, her pronunciation is over the average as much as her vocabulary.
That s why we are more focused on control and guide her potentially more than just
developed because we consider she s doing that by herself.

OCTOBER
I invite you to
follow our detailed list of content we have treated this last month;

In

PAIGE is progressing and improving above our expectations and reacting positively
to our new contents either Spanish and english. Her curiosity for learning new cultures is
helping her to raise her motivation and improve her language skills. This is what we pretend
since the rst day, making them understand that the world is theirs, no bounders, no limits.
Her behavior is also great and she is usually rewarded as the best student with our
scoreboard and that is making effort herself everyday. Keep it up and longer!

NICK is now totally integrated into our routines, already part of out KA1-1 family. He
has done a great job last month, and seemed to enjoy all our activities the most.
This change of attitude has made him to improve his level and we are sure he will catch his
classmates sooner than we expected. He will just need to keep his level as he has been
doing last weeks. Great job!

JUSTIN I had the chance to know him better lately and during all these days and
experience we have shared together I feel totally lucky for being his teacher. His positivism,
outgoing personality, curiosity and interest on what we do are helping him to develop
strong social skills as much as cognitives ones. Due to this process of learning, he has
controlling himself during my lessons and he s vastly improved since the rst days until
now. We raised our english level last two months offering them a challenge which he is
smoothly taking over control. We will keep supervising his progress along these months
ahead. Nice job!

BELLAS has adapted to our new dynamics better and he did in past times. Her
behavior has improved quite a lot and that is helping to perform better during our lessons.
Her language abilities are better than other of her classmates but still need to work hard to

this level and attitude that will happen animi soon.

chance to let our kids understand better the meaning of what this sentence is referring to.

Su capacidad de adquirir nuevos conceptos es realmente increble, !el curso
no podia haber empezado mejor! )

JOHN joined us later the others but she quickly turned into one of our best students,
Frankly speaking, his english level is not as high as his classmates is, but all step forwards
he has been making are helping him to improve faster.
Aside language abilities, he has came up as a great students to be followed by his peers
due to his ability to lead on. He is not scared of taking decisions and trust himself whenever
something is required to be done, this responsible and strong personality is followed by
some of his classmates, since they trust the way he does the things. Keep leading on, John!
