Project Implementation
Development Projects:
Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFCL) has undertaken various development activities for increasing gas production to meet the
demand of the country. The activities of various development projects under BGFCL are as follows :

A. On-going Projects
1. Gas Seepage Control and Appraisal & Development of Titas Gas Field

appraisal-cum development wells for enhancement of gas production as well as
determination of actual reservoir condition and extent of various gas sands of Titas Gas Field.

: a) Drilling Contractor including Third Party Engg. Service :
- Contract was signed between BGFCL and SINOPEC International Petroleum
Service Corporation, PRC on 06.12.2014.
- Drilling of Titas well no. 25 started on 17.12.2015 & completed at drilling depth of
3560 meters on 18.02.2016. The well has been completed at A sand gas zone on
29.03.2016 after production testing.
- Drilling of Titas well no. 26 started on 02.04.2016 & completed at drilling depth of
3848 meters on 22.05.2016. The well has been completed at C5 gas zone.

- Daily 15 & 30 Mmcf gas is expected to be supplied from Titas well no. 25 & 26 upon
installation of ongoing process plant & construction of gas pipeline by GTCL.
- Drilling of Titas well no. 24 started on 18.07.2016 and completed at drilling depth of
3922 meters on 13.09.2016. After perforation at C6 zone preparation for DST is
going on.
b) Consultancy Services :
- Contract signed with consulting firm for 10 categories of consultans on 11.05.2011.
- At present 2 categories of consultant Petroleum Engineer (D & C) and Petroleum
Geologist (D & C) are in supervision of drilling works.
c) Design, Procurement, Installation & Commissioning of Process Plants:
- Contract signed between BGFCL and CONSORTIUM of Zicom Equipment Pte. Ltd.
& SINOPEC Petroleum Engineering Corporation on 01.12.2014.
- All process plant materials reached at site.
- About 98% installation for 1 no. and 82% installation for another no. of Process
Plant have been completed by the contractor.
d) Drilling materials :
- Drilling materials of all groups have been reached at site.
e) Land Acquisition & Development :
- Total 14.9935 acres land have been acquired for drilling of 4 wells and installation of
2 nos. gas process plant in two separate location.
- Rig pad foundation for Titas Well No # 23 & 24 has been completed.
c) Manpower Development (Training)
- Final Contract was signed on 15.06.2016.

2. Natural Gas Efficiency Project

Implementation Period

Major Components & Status
: i) Procurement of 3 nos. gas compressors (90 MMscfd & 700-1200 psig each) with
associated facilities including installation and commissioning at Titas Location-C;
ii) Procurement of 3 nos. gas compressors (15 MMscfd & 700-1200 psig each) with
associated facilities including installation and commissioning at Narshingdi gas field.
- The consultant has prepared the PQ document. After JICA concurrence and
BGFCL Board approval the notice for invitation of tender for prequalification is
published in four national dailies on 31.05.2016. As per notice the proposal from the
interested tenderer has been opened on 04.08.2016. At present, evaluation is
underway.
iii) Engagement of Consultancy Services.
- After getting concurrence from JICA, contract was signed on 18.11.2015 between
BGFCL and Consultant JV of SMEC International Pty Ltd., Australia & ILF
BERATENDE INGENIEURE GNBH, Germany.
- Consulting firm has mobilized their experts with effect from 02.02.2016.

3. Workover of Wells at Titas Gas Field Seepage Area

Objectives

: The main objectives of the project is to undertake workover/remedial works of wells at gas
seepage area for mitigation of seepage problems under Titas Gas Field by ensuring safety of
producing wells as well as to sustain the current gas production rate safely and supply to the
national grid uninterruptedly.

: I) Engagement of BAPEX for workover of existing 5 wells at Titas Gas Field
- Contract has been signed between BGFCL & BAPEX on 25.02.2016.
- Workover of Titas-11 was commenced on 29.02.2016 and completed on 17.04.2016
and about 30 MMscfd gas is being produced from 18.04.2016. Workover of Titas-10
was commenced on 16.05.2016 and completed on 20.07.2016 and about 20 MMscfd
gas is being produced from 20.07.2016. Workover of Titas-5 was commenced on
03.08.2016 and completed on 19.09.2016 and about 30 MMscfd gas is being produced
from 19.09.2016. Workover of Titas-2 has been commenced on 08.10.2016.
II) Procurement of Workover Materials (5 groups)
- All 5 Groups of workover material (Tubing & Accessories; Milling Tools & Accessories;
Well Head & X-mass tree; Mud & Completion chemical and Downhole Completion
Equipment) have been reached at site.
III) Engagement of Third Party Engineering Service Contractors
- Contract has been signed for all 4 categories of Third party Engineering Services
(Cementation, Wireline Operation, DST and Wireline Logging). At present these
services have been enganged for workover of Titas#2.
IV) Engagement of necessary consultants under ADB financing project
- Necessary consultancy services is being provided from ongoing ADB financing "Gas
Seepage Control and Appraisal & Development of Titas Gas Field" project.

4. Installation of Gas Compressors at Bakhrabad Field

: i) Procurement of gas booster compressors (3X15 MMscfd, 200-650 psig) with associated
facilities including installation and commissioning at Bakhrabad field;
- Contract was signed between BGFCL & Kwangshin Machine Ind. Co. Ltd. on
27.11.2014.
- Installation, commissionning and testing of 3 nos. compressors (15 MMscfd capacity
each) and generators were completed by the contractor. Upon performence test, gas
supply is being continuing by compressor operation from 12.03.2016.
ii) Manpower Development (Training)
- For engagement of Foreign Training Firm/Institute to train company personnel in
compressor operation and maintenance, Contract has been signed with successful
Training management firm/Institute, Training & Technology Transfer Ltd. (TTT),
Newzealand on 15.05.2016. Selection of trainees have been completed and GO has
been obtained. Training for the 1st group within 3 groups has been completed in
Malaysia from 18.09.2016 to 01.10.2016 and expected date for remaing 2 groups is
23.10.2016 in Malaysia.

5. Drilling of Well no. 10 at Bakhrabad Gas Field

: The main objective of the project is to enhance gas production substantially and maintain
uninterrupted supply of natural gas to meet the countrys growing demand of natural gas.

: i) Drilling of Bakhrabad well no. 10 at a depth of 305050 meters in Bakhrabad well no. 9

- Rig erection was completed on 31.01.2016 upon completion of rig foundation by


Gazprom International.
- Drilling of Bakhrabad well no. 10 commenced on 09.03.2016 and completed at a depth
of 2832 meter on 12.04.2016 and about 5 MMscfd gas is being supplied to the national
grid from 30.06.2016.
ii) Engagement of Drilling Contractor including Drilling Materials & Third Party Engineering
Services;
- An addendum to the existing contract with Gazprom International, Russia was signed
on 01.09.2015.
iii) Engagement of consulting firm for supervision of drilling activities;
- A memorandum of understanding has been signed with SGFL on 19.01.2016 for
consultancy service under the contract of SGFL. Thus nacessary consultants have been
taken during drilling operation.
iv) Other related works.
- All other related works have been completed.

6. Workover of Titas Well no. 21

: i) Engagement of workover contractor and necessary consultant services from BAPEX;
- Contract has been signed with BAPEX on 25.02.2016 for workover operation including
Consultancy Services.
- Re-completion of Titas-21 was commenced on 10.03.2016 and completed on
16.04.2016 and about 8 MMscfd gas is being supply to the national grid from
16.06.2016.
ii) Procurement of necessary workover materials;
- Contractors have been selected for Workover Materials through international tender.
L/C opened for all group (Downhole Completion Equipment, Mud Chemicals and Milling
Tools). Downhole Completion Equipment and Milling Tools have fully reached at site
and Mud Chemicals has been reached at site partly. Materials have been used for
workover of the well from another project, these materials will be replaced of that
project.
iii) Engagement of third party engineering services contractor; and
- Contractors were selected for 4 catagories of Third Party Services (Cementation,
Wireline logging, Drilling Stem Testing and Wireline Operation) through ICB and
contracts have been singed on 04.02.2016. 4 catagories of Third Party Services
services were engaged during workover of the wells.
iv) Other related work:
- Modification of Rig Foundation and all civil work was done by BAPEX.
