c) As the load is increased , the group needs to find out how the current in the windings will

vary as the load changes . The group will have to determine the load value that will cause
the rotor to stall. ( Not move in the presence of a voltage supply to the stator ) .
According to theory , if the load on the shaft of the motor is in increased , the rotor will
initially slow down . As it does , the torque angle becomes larger , the induced torque
increases . The increase in induced torque eventually speeds the rotor back up , and the
motor again turns at synchronous speed but with a larger torque angle.
When load increases, the torque produced, Te will also increase. From the equation of Te,

When Te increases,

So, when increases, current will also increase.
The current will increase as the load increases until the maximum torque that the motor
can produced. The current remains constant when Te is maximum.
To determine the load value that will cause the rotor to stall:
When motor in stall condition, r = 0.
