General
A.

This section gives the procedure to remove/install the accelerometers.

B.

There are two accelerometers on each engine, one installed on the first bearing house (front
accelerometer - Z1BRG) and another on the fan frame compressor case (rear accelerometer ZFFCC).

C.

This section gives the procedure to deactivate/activate the Number 1 Bearing (front - Z1BRG)
accelerometer.

D.

The procedures in this section are given in the sequence below.

Front Accelerometer - Removal


A.

General
(1)

This task gives the procedure to remove the front accelerometer.

(2)

This task is applicable to the LH and RH engines.

(3)

The front accelerometers are in the engine zones 416 and 426.

(4)

There is no access to the front accelerometer when the engine is installed. To remove the
front accelerometer, it is necessary to remove the engine. Refer to AMM MPP 71-00-01/401.

This task gives the procedure to install the front accelerometer.

(2)

This task is applicable to the LH and RH engines.

(3)

The front accelerometers are in engine zones 416 and 426.

(4)

There is no access to the front accelerometer when the engine is installed. To install the
front accelerometer, it is necessary to remove the engine. Refer to AMM MPP 71-00-01/401.

(inoperative - do not operate) on each one of them:

For the RH engine, open these circuit breakers and put a circuit breaker ring and tag
(inoperative - do not operate) on each one of them:

Do a check of current ECP and reprogram the ECP. Set the No. 1 Bearing

The CMC fault code 73216019E1(2)A(B) - ED NO1 BEARING ACCEL


OFF [E1(2)A(B)] be active.

This CMC message indicates that the front accelerometer (Z1BRG) is


deactivated through ECP. When the front accelerometer (Z1BRG) is
deactivated, the engine vibration monitoring system ignores the signal
from this accelerometer and scales the signal from rear accelerometer
(ZFFCC) to provide a valid and accurate signal to the cockpit.
