Big Ideas/Unit Goals:
How are right triangles used in our daily lives?
How can math make possible for us to build houses, bridges, sport facilities and other stuff?

Unit Summary:

In this unit we will learn the importance of right triangles. We will learn the trigonometric ratios; such as sine, cosine, and
tangent. We will use this ratio to find the sides of right triangles. After, we will apply the Pythagorean Theorem to solve right
triangles. Now, we are familiar with the trigonometric ratios we will use them to derive properties for special right triangles (30,
60, 90and 45, 45, 90). Once we are familiar with such properties we will then use this knowledge and we will apply these
properties to real life situations. We will learn how to design buildings and bridges using right triangles. This unit will give you
the opportunity to use mathematics in real life situations.

Teacher will have a catching and engaging Prezi presentation. Students will be given
guided notes so follow along the lecture. The guided notes are filling the blanks so
students can be engaged on the lecture and be ready for those keywords.
