Strategies used to
facilitate transitions
Efficacy of the
strategy in terms of
promoting positive
behavior and
minimizing
challenging
behavior
Suggestions for
further development
1 From the
Morning
assembly to the
Circle Time
Attendance Chart
Circle Time
3 From the
Playground to
the Lunch room
Toilet
This strategy is
sufficient but not quite
effective, I agree with
Sameera, a few days
ago she suggested to
Ms. Ebtihal to call her
if one of the students
needed to use the
toilet or take a group
of 4 students each
after eating. I think
that be more effective,
the students would be
present in class and
not making a mess in
the toilet or running
around in the
corridors making
noise.
Students learn to be
fair and patient,
that helping hands
students change
everyday and they
just have to wait for
their turn without
complaining.
This strategy is
effective, they
developed this as part
of their routine.
They no longer come
pushing each other to
hold my hands, if
they do, I remind
them that the helping
hand student should
be standing first in
line.
The strategy of
forming 2 separate
lines makes the
transition flow
smoothly. For
example, Ms. Ebtihal
lead the students who
use bus
transportations, and I
lead the students who
leave in car
transportations to the
waiting room. In just
4 weeks, the children
already got used to
this strategy, they
automatically come
and stand in front of
me waiting for me to
start moving.
