System overview
The TVStreamer units- which have been renamed Flamingo 660 are designed to receive different
kind of feeds. They are designed as digital turnaround products.
Depending on the model of the Flamingo 660, it can receive satellite feeds, cable feeds, DTT
(Terrestrial Television) feeds or analog feeds.
The streams provided by the Flamingo 660 units can be sent for a direct use. In this case, the streams
will not be modified at all. It means that quality and bitrates are unchanged.
The streams can also be used to feed different IP-based devices such as transcoders and edge QAMs
in order to output streams with different quality or on a QAM based network.

Support for DVB-S, DVB-S2, DVB-C, DVB-T and Encoding support
DVB-CI
Remote controllable via RS-232
Remote controllable via HTTP
Remote controllable via SSH
Full XML API
Up to 12 channels descrambling per CI (depending on Smartcards and CAMs)
Up to 600 Mbps output

Device description
Front
Since the Flamingo 660 is designed to be installed in environments where access to the server room
might not be restricted enough, the door on the front panel can be locked in order to protect the
CAMs and smartcards.
A LCD exists on the front panel- it is combined with a keypad with 6 keys.
This LCD is used for:
displaying information during boot
displaying information during normal use
configure management IP address and parameters

Earth Connector
An earth connector exists on the equipment. It is located on the rear panel in the right upper corner.
It provides a suitable connection between the Flamingo 660 series and the installation to give a low
impedance path.
Power outlet
The power outlet comprises a connector. The On/Off switch is on the front panel.

Conditional Access
The Conditional Access system is a DVB Common Interface.
6 Interfaces are available on the Flamingo 660 series.
Each interface is related to a single input.

Table 20 SPTS Table handling
A given service can be retransmitted multiple times to different destinations with different
parameters.
1: Even if descrambling is performed, the PMT and the CA descriptors are left unmodified
2: Even if descrambling is performed, the CAT and the CA descriptors are left unmodified
3:In case of descrambling of a TS packet, all modifications are performed by the DVB-CIF CAM module (including modification of scrambling
control bit)
4: In case of PMT regeneration, all existing descriptors are kept unchanged except CA Descriptors. No descriptor insertion can be
performed.
5: In case of SDT regeneration, all information regarding output service is kept, all others are discarded.
6: In case of EIT regeneration, all information regarding output service is kept, all others are discarded.

7: In case of ES Type / Descriptor Tag remapping, this allows for example the user to output French audio track on PID 101 even if incoming
PID for French audio changes.
8: In Separate mode, the user can select which interface is used for each output stream
9: In Backup mode, the two interfaces are seen as one
10: In Broadcast mode, each stream is sent on both interfaces with the same parameters
11: In TLB (Traffic Load Balancing mode), each stream is sent on one of the interfaces in order to balance the load of each interface. In case
of link failure on one interface, all streams will be sent on the remaining interface
