World Food Programme, Indonesia invites applications from the eligible candidates for the following position:

Position: National Programme Officer (NPO) / Head of Mataram Sub-Office


Contract Type: Service Contract
Duration: Initial 3 months with possibility for extension
Duty Station: Mataram, Indonesia

Accountabilities: Within assigned Area-Office, under the direct supervision of the head of area office/DCD, the
NPO will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Responsible for overall sub-office management which includes administration, security, finance and
staff managements, implementation and monitoring of programs and activities in NTB districts;
2. Develop and sustain liaison with the local government officials, UN agencies, and NGOs engaged in
the field of food security;
3. Overseas and provide continuing liaison to the UN joint programming efforts in NTB;
4. Carry out advocacy and information related tasks for project/programme activities such as making
interventions and presentations in meetings, workshops, seminars, missions, etc;
5. Assess the need for all kinds of intervention and food in emergency situation, and organize project
planning missions, meetings and briefing sessions to identify and analyze problems and recommend
project;
6. Undertake negotiations for and prepare project documents with governments and cooperating
partners, and supervise the implementation of the FLA;
7. Assess project performance including utilization of resources and achievement of planned targets;
8. Monitor, update and track data related to project issues, commodity pipelines, monthly food requests,
payment requests and financial allotment status reports, informing Head of Area Office and the
relevant units of CO accordingly;
9. Design and maintain databases of indicators relating to district food security and WFP projects;
10. Advise the CPs on the handling, transport, storage and distribution of the commodities supplied by
WFP;
11. Assist the CPs on the maintenance of all records, accounts and books as stipulated in the FLAs and
ensure that reports required for WFP are accurate and provided as scheduled;
12. Prepare regular reports on the progress of operational projects;
13. Provide training and technical guidance to other program staff in their works;
14. Ensure that sufficient monitoring of the WFP operations are carried out, M&E forms are utilized and
entry to monitoring database on a proper manner;
15. Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications and Experiences:


Education: University degree and/or equivalent experience with emphasis in one or more of the following
disciplines: economics, agriculture, international affairs, business administration, social sciences, development
studies or a field relevant to international development assistance.
Experience: At least one year postgraduate job related experience in commerce, development, administration or
food aid support.
Knowledge: Training and/or experience utilizing computers including word processing, spreadsheet and other
standard WFP software packages and system. General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations and
procedures governing administration.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written English and Bahasa Indonesia.
