Professional Learning Lesson Plans

Using Promethean/New ActivInspire Software

Georgia Department of Education Teacher Keys Effectiveness System
Promethean Boards can be used for instruction, differentiation, and
assessment, therefore allowing teachers a resource to achieve higher levels
of achievement on state evaluations.
TKES Performance Standard 2: Instructional Planning the teacher plans
using state and local school district curricula and standards, effective
strategies, resources, and data to address the differentiated needs of all
students.
TKES Performance Standard 3: Instructional Strategies Teachers promotes
student learning by using research-based instructional strategies relevant to
the content to engage students in active learning and to facilitate the
students acquisition of key knowledge and skills.
TKES Performance Standard 4: Differentiated Instruction The teacher
challenges and supports each students learning by providing appropriate
content and developing skills which address individual learning differences.
TKES Performance Standard 5: Assessment Strategies The teacher
systematically chooses a variety of diagnostic, formative, and summative
assessment strategies and instruments that are valid and appropriate for the
content and student population.
Background Info: Promethean Boards were installed into every classroom in
our building in 2012. However, because we only have one Instructional
Technologist that serves our 35 school in Douglas County, we were not
properly trained in how to best use these amazing tools in our possession.
Goals and Objectives: Teachers will leave this training with tools for
immediate implementation in the classroom. As we go through the different
tools and activities that can be created, teachers can create flipcharts based
on their content area and save them for use in their classrooms. These
flipcharts can be altered and used within many different content areas.

Assessment
1. Each teacher should create at least one of these tools using content
area other than one of the subject areas we used today. Share them
under the Flipchart Training Folder on the Teacher Shared Drive so that
all teachers in the building can have access to them.
2. Email me at claire.phillips@douglas.k12.ga.us with any questions,
complaints, or concerns in regards to what we have learned today.
