Personal Statement

Muhammad Ali Aziz

My decision to pursue undergraduate studies in Australia is underscored by my desire to be a part
of an undergraduate program in abroad. Foreign Universities in abroad offer the flexibility
needed for such a vast and rapidly changing field. The research facilities and the faculty at those
universities are par excellent.
My interest in engineering developed during my high school days. It was the time when
technology had begun to make an impact on the lives of people all around the world. Hence
engineering major was my first choice for my undergraduate studies. Ever since, I have been
fascinated by machines and design its power of applications. I have enriched my knowledge by
reading and updating myself with engineering based books and magazines, mainly about
mechanical engineering. It surely laid the foundation for courses in Instrumentation Plant design
piping and manufacturing field for the future during my final year.
I plan to pursue a masters degree in Mechanical engineering and it will definitely be the next
logical step.
During my high school years, I was keen to work well in any group/environment and will strive
to submit work of high standards. My favorite subjects were physics, mathematics and chemistry.
I always had interest in the subject and most of the required laboratory techniques. My subject of
interest from the mechanical engineering major is Fluid mechanics and Thermodynamics.

My hunger to acquire knowledge about plant design, piping and manufacturing through which
the plant industries work in our everyday life is at a peak level. I am sure my eagerness to find
out more about the applications of plant design will surely lead me to my dream.
I strongly believe that Australian education system has the best to offer in the whole world
because of the practical and valuable education system they follow.
This belief arises out of the experience that my parents had when they did their Bachelors and
Master of sciences. My mother did her masters in clinical psychology. My father is a Chemical
Engineer himself with 23 years of experience in Engineering and Project Management in Oil &
Gas Industry. We as a family are living in Middle East for last 16 + Years and My father worked
in engineering consulting company for Aramco Oil and Gas projects in KSA and now for last 6-7
years he in in U.A.E and working as Deputy General Manager in an EPC organization which in
engaged in Oil and Gas industry.
If I can get an opportunity to be a part of that intellectually stimulating environment, I am sure
my talents will be put to optimal use.
United Arab Emirates is a developing country with an enormous potential in plant designing
field. To serve the needs of this developing industry and more important its vast population,
communications is going to become of utmost importance. Thus conditions here are very
conducive to supplement my aspirations when I return after completing my graduate studies.
