Program Title : Musical, Dancing, and Art Making as Activities for Drug Surrenders
Proposed Scope and Location : The project proposal encompasses the former drug
users in Marikina City Jail. The participants are 50 people ranging from 18-50 years
old of any gender who had an experience with illegal drugs and addiction.
Program Rationale : Today, the Philippines is placed under a Drug War campaign
by President Rodrigo Duterte. This is because of the rampant usage of illegal drugs
and prevalent addiction in the whole archipelago. In line with this, the project
proposal aims to support the Presidents aggressive war against illegal drugs through
the activities proposed for the drug surrenders and former drug users that will help
them recover and go back to the society.
Brief Description of the Program : The program primarily includes activities such as
musical performances (instrument playing and singing), dancing performances, and
art making (painting, drawing, paper art etc.) to
Program Goal : The program aims to help drug surrenders to: a.) recover from drug
addiction, b.) be encouraged to end using drugs, c.) change their lifestyle into a
healthy one and that by the end of 2017, the participants have fully benefited from the
program through their changed lifestyle and behavior.

Helping Strategies : Establishing a connection among the drug surrenders that they
may be comfortable with each other and build empathy among them and using the
performances in changing the participants lifestyle and behavior.
Monitoring Scheme : Evaluating the change in behaviours and lifestyle of the drug
surrenders a month after every performances to gauge the success of the activities.
Success Indicator : The effect of the activities for the drug surrenders through the
change in their emotions into positive ones and having a healthy lifestyle thereafter
every activities.
