the alkali on the walls.
Sequence of Painting
A: Always start with the ceiling.

B: Followed by the cornices.
C: Then the walls.
D: And the woodwork
around doors and windows.
E: Subsequently the doors.
F: Lastly the skirtings.
This prevents the other painted
areas from being ruined while
painting.
A wide brush or roller may be used

to paint the walls, though the latter
gives the best finish and is quicker.
Do apply the paint from the top right
hand corner of the first wall using
overlapping strokes, in an up-down
manner when moving from area to
area.
Always apply more than one coat

of paint. Let the first coat dry
before painting another coat over.
An indication is found on the can
for the first coats drying time.
Use a brush and dip only one third
of the brush bristles into the paint.
Use long continuous strokes to
form a neat line while painting
difficult areas like the edges and
corners first.
Upon completion, do wash all

equipment. Water, for emulsion
paint and turpentine, for oil-based
paint.
