3. Carbon Steel
The various uses of carbon steel depend on the
amount of carbon added to the alloy; for instance,
carbon steel with the lowest amount of carbon is
called wrought iron and is used for things like
fencing. Medium-carbon steel, also called mild
steel, is the type of steel that is used for structural
purposes in buildings and bridges. High-carbon
steel is used for springs and steel wires, while ultra-high carbon steel is
called cast iron and is often used to make pots.
4. Brass
There are many uses for brass, from hammers and
tools to musical instruments. Brass has been used
for thousands of years to make weapons,
sculptures and even armor for warriors. In
manufacturing areas that contain explosive fumes,
materials or liquids, brass is commonly used to
make fasteners that will not spark and potentially
create an explosion
5. Copper

Presently, copper is used in building construction, power

generation and transmission, electronic product
manufacturing, and the production of industrial machinery
and transportation vehicles. Copper wiring and plumbing
are integral to the appliances, heating and cooling
systems,and telecommunications links used every day in
homes and businesses. Copper is an essential component
in the motors, wiring, radiators, connectors, brakes, and
bearings used in cars and trucks.

6. Bronze
Bronze metal is used in doors, windows, mail boxes,
trim, furniture and rails. A type of bronze called
statuary bronze is a popular medium in outdoor
sculptures.

7. Alloy
Applications of aluminium include transportation, electrical applications,
construction and medicine. High altitude flying
would not have been possible without aluminium
as it posses properties that can withstand high
pressures.

8. Zinc
Zinc is used in zinc galvanizing, which is the process
of adding thin layers of zinc to iron or steel to
prevent rusting.

9. White Cast Iron

When the percentage of carbon is from 2.0 to
2.5, cast iron possesses extreme hardness but
also becomes brittle. In metal works where
hardness is desired and brittleness can be
tolerated, white cast iron is most suited. It is
used extensively in the production of machine
parts.

10.Tin
It is used in coating insides of pipes used for conveying
drinking water. It is also plated insides cans used to
conserve foodstuff due to its high resistance to
tarnishing.
