PROBLEMA 1. SOLDADURA (25 minutos)

In oxyacetylene, electric arc and laser-beam cutting, the processes basically involve melting of the workpiece.
Suppose that a 10 cm diameter hole is cut from a 30 cm x 30 cm diameter plate with 1,5 cm thickness. Plate is
made of carbon steel. Plot the evolution of mean temperature in the blank as a function of kerf. Assume that twothirds of the energy goes into the blank.

PROBLEMA 2. CONFORMADO PLSTICOS (20 minutos)

LDPE food bags are produced by blown molding. Dimensions of bags must be 30 m thickness, 55 cm
width and 75 cm height. The blown relation is 2,25. The stretched relation is 5. Calculate the diameter
and the die opening for this process.
